* KeepCirculatingTheTapes: Kingdom Hearts II remains as the only game of the franchise with a Spanish dub in a similar case that of VideoGame/MetalGearSolid. However, the 2.5 compilation release did not include it and the dub only remains in the UsefulNotes/PlayStation2 game copies. It's highly unlikely that the dub will ever be available again in any following re-releases as other titles of the franchise did not receive one plus the fact that the 2.5 Final Mix includes new scenes. Though Website/YouTube users have edited compilation videos of the games' remastered HD scenes with the [=PS2=] game's dub.

** Setzer's cameo was originally filled by Rufus Shrina from VideoGame/FinalFantasyVII. Nomura realized that the Franchise/FinalFantasy representation already skewed pretty heavily towards VII, so he told scenario writer Kazushige Nojima to use Setzer specifically because he was from VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI.

Nomura realized that the Franchise/FinalFantasy representation already skewed pretty heavily towards VII, so he told scenario writer Kazushige Nojima to use Setzer specifically because he was from VideoGame/FinalFantasyVI. Unfortunately, the lack of significant alteration to the part resulted in many finding Setzer wildly out-of-character.

* OneTakeWonder: Reportedly, Creator/ChristopherLee insisted on only doing a single read-through for his lines and then walking out of the studio due to his busy schedule. As the voice director noted (and fans tend to agree), the single takes were all Lee needed to do anyway since he nailed the delivery every time.

** Deep Dive is not a scene used in Kingdom Hearts II. It would instead be used in VideoGame/KingdomHearts358DaysOver2.

* TheOriginalDarrin:
** In the first VideoGame/KingdomHeartsI game, Hercules was played by Creator/SeanAstin, and the Mayor of Halloween Town by Creator/JeffBennett. Here in II, Astin and Bennett are replaced by Creator/TateDonovan and Creator/GlennShadix, the original actors from WesternAnimation/Hercules and WesternAnimation/TheNightmareBeforeChristmas.
** WesternAnimation/TheLittleMermaid1989 cast member Creator/ChristopherDanielBarnes returns to the role of Prince Eric for the first time ever, having been replaced by Creator/JeffBennett in the TV series and Creator/RobPaulsen in the sequel.
* TheOtherDarrin:
** Creator/RichardEpcar replaces Creator/BillyZane as Ansem, Seeker of Darkness.
** Creator/MaeWhitman replaces Creator/ChristyCarlsonRomano as Yuffie, Creator/DougErholtz replaces Creator/DavidBoreanaz as Leon, and Mena Suvari replaces Music/MandyMoore as Aerith.
** Creator/GeorgeNewbern replaces Lance Bass as Sephiroth.
** Meaghan Jette Martin replaces Brittany Snow as Naminé in the II.5 Final [=ReMIX=] version, but only for the new and expanded scenes that weren't in the original [=PS2=] version. Brittany Snow's lines are otherwise intact.
** Several Disney characters were given this treatment from their source material, at least one in every world. Agrabah (Genie), Beast's Castle (Lumiere),His original VA Jerry Orbach had passed away prior to the games release The Land of Dragons (Mushu), and Olympus Coliseum (Phil) are all missing only one of their original voice actors each, though all are replaced by their official other Darrins. Simba, Shenzi, Nala, Scar and Timon from Pride Lands do not have their original actors back, nor do Flounder and Sebastian in Atlantica, the MCP and Sark for Space Paranoids, or anyone at all in Port Royal, 100 Acre Wood, and Timeless River. However, most of them are replaced by their official other Darrins, meaning those voices are reprised. Simba and Mushu are mixed cases- their voice actors in KH provided the singing voices in the movies for their characters (apparently, in Mushu's case). Of note is that this game marks the debut of Travis Oates as the official voice actor for Piglet, replacing the late John Fiedler, who voiced him in the first game and was his original voice actor since his first animated appearance in 1968.

** Tate Donovan, the original voice actor for Hercules, reprises his role after not coming back for VideoGame/KingdomHeartsI.

" DubInducedPlothole: The localization regarding the explanation of Naminé's birth in the Secret Ansem Reports has caused many to believe that Sora's body had split between her and Roxas or, at least, that she was born with an extra created part of Sora's body - aka they believe she is "technically" the "Nobody of Kairi and Sora " - when in actuality Sora's body was used as an intermediary to gain her own physical form as a Nobody out of nothing. If the former aspect was true, then there are many major plotholes that comes up with some of them being why Sora didn't absorb Namine during Chain of Memories/Days and how Kairi was able to absorb Naminé's entire being at the end of KHII as it brings up the notion that Kairi is now part Sora or was secretly part Sora all along which brings up other issues regarding the growing relationship between Sora and Kairi. The localization varies throughout all the explanation of Naminé's birth in which it unfortunately makes it seem as if the former aspect is true when, in a direct translation of all the ultimanias and game reports, they always used the same phrase when describing how she was born.
->Secret Ansem Report 10[localization]:Naminé emerged as Kairi's Nobody...but the body necessary to exist as a Nobody belonged to Sora,
