** Inverted with Broly. Team Four Star has been pretty clear from the beginning that they absolutely despise Broly, considering him everything that is wrong with Dragon Ball. Going by their Top 24 Dragon Ball Villains and Vegeta's comments in Broly Abridged, they do think his Legendary Super Saiyan-Transformation and fighting scenes are awesome, but simply find it wasted on a lackluster character. In the Broly Abridged movie, they use Vegeta as an AuthorAvatar to directly address their feelings on him.

** Inverted with Broly. Team Four Star loathes Icarus, to the point where he dies in all of his appearances.

** Lanipator's brief stint as Freeza is an allusion to voice actress Linda Young. Both Freeza and Yu Yu Hakusho's Genkai are voiced by Young, whom Lanipator's performance is based on.

** Little Kuriboh makes an allusion to his own role as Yami Yugi. When Freeza changes into his second form, he becomes larger and gets spikier horns. It's only appropriate that he uses his Creator/DAN GREEN voice for this form. The voice in general is not an allusion, as it predates the Kai dub by months.

** Trunks' voice actor, [=KaiserNeko=], is gay. Again the allusions range from subtle, giving no answer when Krillin asked him if 18 is cute something canon Trunks used to describe her, to less than subtle, like getting married to Broly.

* RecycledScript: Parodied in Lord Slug Abridged. Several of Slug's henchmen get fried after they accidentally refer to him as "King Piccolo", and even the Dragon finds his wish very familiar...
** It's enough similarity that even Goku figures it out.

familiar... It's enough similarity that even Goku figures it out.

** Two minor examples are everyone, including their creator, confusing the Biomen from the World's strongest movie with Vegeta's Saibamen (with one even blowing up Yamcha in the same way except he survives this time), and Piccolo noting how the QuirkyMinibossSquad in different movies are all the same. (To wit: One DumbMuscle, one PrettyBoy, one freaky alien with weird squicky powers.)

(To wit: One DumbMuscle, one PrettyBoy, one freaky alien with weird squicky powers.)

** A couple days after "Plan to Eradicate Christmas" premiered, [=KaiserNeko=] clarified on Twitter that the special was significantly different from what was originally planned. According to him, rather than being a Christmas-themed parody, it would've been a more straight comical pastiche of "Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans", with the main gimmick being that it'd repeatedly shift between the 1993 and 2008 versions of the OVA due to Dr. Raichi's machine causing a tear in the space-time continuum. The special was eventually retooled into a Christmas episode both due to time constraints[=KaiserNeko=] described the 1993 footage as being too difficult to edit to the intended extent, which makes sense considering how it's only available in sub-par quality at best and because of the surprisingly apt timing of its production. The original plan for the special did end up getting an allusion in the form of a brief sight gag when Goku and co. encounter .
* WordOfDante: Some fans bring up the explanations that Creator/TeamFourStar give in discussions about the canon series. Especially in regards to TheMultiverse. The Abridged Series referred to alternate timelines as "universes". However Anime/DragonBallSuper established a whole different definition for universe, which is in direct contrast to the TFS explanation. This also happened with Webcomic/DragonBallMultiverse, that uses the term "Universe" for "different timelines".

Why this is hasn't been explained, but it might be to make a better distinction between Goku and Gohan as the series goes along and Gohan gets older, which Masako might not be able to do effectively enough.
