** It should be noted, though, that actual ending of the series in 2018 is not an example of this, as this was intended by the show's creator rather than forced by the network.

** The screwing intensified in mid-late 2016. In September, it was announced the series would end after its ninth season in 2018. Then, the Finn & Jake balloon did not show up in the line-up for the 2016 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, meaning it was retired. And finally, the two-part seventh season finale aired in other countries before the United States, received zero promotion in the US, and was suddently rescheduled right before its airing, giving it the series' lowest ratings. This treatment of InvisibleAdvertising contiued for Season 8, and a complete lack of reruns (aside from the "Stakes" miniseries airing on the weekend before Halloween due to being thematically appropriate) makes it very clear that Cartoon Network is working as hard as it can to snuff out what was once its flagship series.

* AdoredByTheNetwork: The show was this back in the day. It was very much adored along with WesternAnimation/RegularShow and, to a lesser extent, WesternAnimation/TheAmazingWorldOfGumball. It would eventually be surpassed by the latter of the three as the network's favorite, and would eventually be dethroned completely by WesternAnimation/TeenTitansGo, to the point that, as of October 2015, zero Adventure Time re-runs are on the schedule, meaning the only places the series can be watched are video on-demand, on the official Cartoon Network app, on the DVD and Blu-Ray releases, and on YouTube (if the copyright police haven't taken down the episodes yet). Fortunately, re-runs finally returned on October 25, 2015 in the lead-up to the seventh season. It used to air on Saturday evenings as part of a block called Regular Time Adventure Show (which features new episodes and reruns of Adventure Time and RegularShow) on March 5, 2016, but now, as of May 5, 2016, has moved back to Thursdays.

*** As VideoGamesAwesome pointed out, Canada had only just started airing the first season, so there was no reason to release the game. The crew recieved episodes and the game through outside means.

* It has become so successful that most of the crew members past and present are now getting work in most of Cartoon Network's and Disney's other headlining shows. The show has pushed several of the cast and production members into the spotlight for animation fans and executives, who suddenly saw them appear in later shows thanks to Adventure Time.

* InvisibleAdvertising: The final two episodes of season seven, "Preboot" and "Reboot", were not promoted at all, and were aired in a bad time slot, causing the episodes to be the least-watched episodes of the series! Also, the episodes were scheduled to air at 8:30 p.m., but a few hours before they scheduled to air, they were moved to 8 p.m.!
** The entire show is getting hit with this as of late. It never airs unless there's new episodes, and even then, the new episodes are barely promoted, or not promoted at all! (See the example above.)
** Starting with season eight, the series is only advertised through Cartoon Network's/Adventure Time's Twitter and Facebook pages, and by the staff of the show on Twitter.
