* ''Manga/GokinjoMonogatari'' has [[ElegantGothicLolita Pii-chan]] on Mikako's friends' side, and [[{{delinquent}} Jiro]] on Tsutomu's. They never get an important role because Pii-chan is apparently just an excuse for Yazawa to draw sweet lolita outfits due to AuthorAppeal, and Jiro is always busy with his part-time jobs.

* In ''LightNovel/{{Baccano}}'' we've got--

* Subverted in ''LightNovel/{{Durarara}}'', where it turns out Those Two {{Otaku}} are just as involved in the {{Mob War}}s as everyone else is. Also, [[spoiler:they're {{Torture Technician}}s]].

* ''LightNovel/FullMetalPanic'' has Shinji and Kyoko, best friends of Sousuke and Kaname respectively and often pair them up as a GreekChorus. ''Anime/FullMetalPanicFumoffu'' expands the roster using (the pre-existing but very minor characters) Mizuki and Onodera to give Kaname (Kyoko and Mizuki) and Sousuke (Shinji and Onodera) each a pair of their own ThoseTwoGuys.

* Kyon's two friends Taniguchi and Kunikida from ''LightNovel/HaruhiSuzumiya''. One's tall and [[CasanovaWannabe lecherous]], the others baby-faced and [[NiceGuy timid]]. Taniguchi wound up being a sort of EnsembleDarkHorse after getting a few good scenes (and an ImageSong CD for the second season), while poor Kunikida is just kinda ''there''.

* ''LightNovel/KazeNoStigma'' has Ayano's two friends Yukari and Nanase.

* ''LightNovel/{{Toradora}}'' has Noto and Haruta, as well as Those Two Girls Kihara and Kashii.

* Daniel and Raymond in ''LightNovel/TrappedInADatingSimTheWorldOfOtomeGamesIsToughForMobs'' fill this role - helping Leon serve tea at his cafe, courting girls together, etc. They got bullied into wrecking his room but Leon forgave them, since that's just how things go at the Academy. Daniel is the sturdy one, Raymond the refined bishonen.

** ''Anime/DokiDokiPrettyCure'' has Nikaido and Momota.

*** Hikari's two friends: Nagisa-fangirl Nao ([[NamesTheSame no, not that]] [[Anime/GlitterForce Nao]]) and Honoka-fangirl Miu.

** ''Anime/FreshPrettyCure'' has Miyuki's ([[NamesTheSame no, not that]] [[Anime/SmilePrettyCure Miyuki]]) dance groupmates Reika ([[NamesTheSame no, not that]] [[Anime/GlitterForce Reika]]) and Nana.

** Maria Ross and Denny Brosh seem headed this way at the beginning of the manga, but then Ross gets unpredictably [[PutOnABus swept away by the plot]] and Denny is left to fend for himself as that one guy. He and Maria do remain as Those Two Guys in the [[Anime/FullmetalAlchemist 2003 anime]], Denny especially. Maria at least has some plot relevance as she [[spoiler:gives Edward a CooldownHug]] and [[spoiler:has a crush on his father later]].

* ''Manga/OnePiece'' has these in [[LoadsAndLoadsOfCharacters spades]]! On the Marines' side, it's usually Smoker and Tashigi or Hina with Django and Fullbody but most notably Coby and Helmeppo.

** [[YaoiGuys Yuki and Toya]] could qualify to a certain degree. They subvert it later, though, when it turns out that both of them (Yuki, or should I say [[spoiler: Yue]], in particular) are very involved in the plot indeed.

* Minoru Mineta and Denki Kaminari from ''Anime/MyHeroAcademia'' are Those Two Perverted Guys. Oddly enough, this is only when they're together; when not together, Kaminari is a friendly ButtMonkey who gets along with the rest of his class, while Mineta is... well, [[TheScrappy he's still just Mineta.]]

* Drake and Ted from ''Manga/{{FAKE}}''. Subverted in ''FAKE II'' with their promotion to the FiveManBand.
