* ''Franchise/GhostInTheShell'' rarely follows the tropes that anyone who's at least a bit GenreSavvy would see from miles away. However, an early episode of ''Anime/GhostInTheShellStandAloneComplex'' mentions that the prime minister was put in her position because she lacked the ambition to interfere with the directions of [[TheOmniscientCouncilOfVagueness the people in charge.]]

* Toward the end of various battles, characters in ''Manga/JoJosBizarreAdventure'' tend to declare victory before they've actually won. The villains do this ''a lot'', but the heroes will sometimes do it, too. You can't really blame them, because the battles were going in their favor and under normal circumstances, there's no way the opposition would win. Then suddenly, said opposition developed a clever strategy that gives them the victory. It's like a cue telling the viewers that the fights are ending and the apparent "winner" will actually lose.

* In Chapter 4/Episode 2 of ''Manga/PleaseTellMeGalkoChan'', Galko mentioned while spicy foods irritates her bottom, she's constipated at that point and it's OK to indulge in as much of it as she wants. Otako thinks it'd get worse when all of it eventually comes out--and Otako is right; the following day Galko's bottom is so irritated that she has problem sitting down.

** And to complete the A's streak, Nanoha tells Yuuno that since the Book of Darkness selects its master at random, then it stands to reason that a girl her age can be selected as well. They dismiss the thought after Nanoha receives a message from Suzuka, introducing her new friend, Hayate Yagami.

** On another instance, Gintoki expresses his utter hatred for New Year's cards, and claims he's going personally execute everyone who sends him one. Naturally, he ends up getting hundreds of them in the mail. In an attempt at being GenreSavvy in the same episode, he expresses false hatred for Valetine's Day chocolates, and doesn't get any, much to his irritation.

* Parodied to hell and back in the first episode of ''Anime/TheTowerOfDruaga'', like everything else about the fantasy genre and anime:
** When first meeting the crimson knight, ''Black Knight'':
---> '''Utu:''' Hey, Jil...\\
'''Jil:''' What is it, Utu?\\
'''Utu:''' You see... when this battle is over, I am going back to my hometown to get married.\\
'''Jil:''' I see... Why are you telling me this now?\\
''(Utu charges and is instantly killed)''
** Later Black Knight returns and saves Jil from a dragon, because he is [[TheOnlyOneAllowedToDefeatYou The Only One Allowed To Defeat Him]].
---> '''Black Knight:''' And Jil, there is something else I must tell you.\\
'''Jil:''' What?\\
'''Black Knight:''' When this battle is over, I am going to return to my hometown and marry.\\
''(Black Knight is instantly killed by the dragon)''
** And finally the dark god in the final battle.
---> "Jil... I am your father. And one more thing, once this battle is over, I plan to get remarried in my hometown."
* From the very first episode of ''Anime/{{FLCL}}'', the main character gives us this quip: "[[NothingExcitingEverHappensHere Nothing amazing happens here. Everything is ordinary.]]" Yeah, Naota, given the fact that you're in a Creator/StudioGainax [[WidgetSeries series,]] you really should've thought better...

* In ''Manga/HayateTheCombatButler'', Maria gives Hayate an expensive cashmere jacket to wear out in public and explains very clearly how getting it ruined will likely get him fired. After avoiding all manner of spills and sword-wielding thugs that are all [[LampshadeHanging clearly stated to "stain/ruin/cut cashmere very well"]], he tries to avoid falling into "the kind of pond that ruins cashmere coats" during an attempt to "rescue" Isumi from her servants by taking it off before he hits the water... and promptly ripping it to shreds on a nearby hanging tree.
** Later on in the series, Sakuya builds a ship that is an exact replication of the ''Titanic''. It doesn't fare well.
*** Sakuya also mentioned "unless terrorists hijack"... Guess what happens?
* ''Franchise/OnePiece'': usually exploited for [[RuleOfFunny comedic purpose]], this series is rip with it.
