* [[spoiler:Sandy's death]]. He got an UnexplainedRecovery, but the funeral scene made it easy to believe he wouldn't.
** The worst part was [[spoiler:his expression - defiant to the end as the nightmare sand consumed him]].
** Also the look on his face when he gets hit by the nightmare sand. It looks like he's been shot.

* How broken hearted and crushed [[spoiler: Bunny looks when he finds out the children stopped believing in him.]]

** That entire scene, from the moment Jack realizes what's happened on, is just heartbreaking. And like a lot of things in the movie, it's the little details that make it the most powerful, like that fact that it's not [[spoiler:Bunnymund]] who gives Jack his WhatTheHellHero moment. No, it's [[spoiler:North. North, who's been nothing but supportive of Jack the entire movie, to the point of being a mentor, almost a father-figure.]] Between how disappointed and betrayed he sounds and Jack trying to figure out what he can say to make things right, plus Bunny losing his cool for the once and only time in the movie, and Tooth essentially in mourning...it gets you right in the gut.

** In the same scene noted above, Pitch's face looks genuinely sad for a beat when Jack refuses his offer.
*** Most likely because the offer was almost definitely ''genuine,'' and not just some attempt at manipulating Jack.

** Any young man struggling to find their place in the world and be recognized for their work just a little could really emphasize with him.
*** Heck, any person who is feeling confused and lonely could relate. This troper herself got hit very hard with that sentiment. Especially teenagers and young adults, like Jack, who are just getting their independence, and want to prove to people they can do it, but don't know how, or why it has to be so hard.

** At least we get one TearJerker that brings tears of joy. [[spoiler:The scene in Jamie's bedroom when he starts to believe in Jack is very sweet and genuine. The poor kid's been invisible for 300 years, you can ''see'' the emotions he's going through when he says "He sees me!'']] EVERY SINGLE TIME.

*** Becomes FridgeBrilliance later: Tooth and especially Bunnymound and North are acknowledged and seen and believed in because they leave behind presents as a physical proof of their existence and because the children accept the presents as proof, which can be another reason why Jack calls it bribery. [[spoiler: Later when the kids lose hope in Easter, Bunnymound tries to give them the eggs personally but they do not notice him... because he is too late and the kids didn't get the eggs when they thought they should, which to them proves he doesn't exist as they were already on the brink of the age to stop believing in him and North anyways, this just pushed them over the edge.]]

** To add to the fanart, this disgustingly sad, depressing, but scarily realistic one that's been circling, with no description except for "History has a habit of repeating itself." [[http://fuocogo.tumblr.com/post/37488936775 It's heartbreaking]].

*** North describing how [[spoiler: Pitch's Nightmares attacked the tunnels, destroying all the eggs]], all while moving slowly, exhausted. It's especially bad since this is ''Santa Claus'', yet here, he's just tired and worn.
