* "Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town", where the titular woman recognizes an old flame of hers from her youth but chooses not to call out to him as too much time has passed since. The song ends with the implication that she's suffering dementia, destined to die in the small town she grew up in and never left.

** "Indifference", which is about Vedder basically giving up. Saying that nothing he does in the long run matters, no matter how much he wants it too.

** There's plenty of footage and photos from the Roskilde concert available, and almost all of them show an utterly distraught Eddie Vedder trying to get people to move back and help people up who had fallen to the ground. It's quite a tearjerker knowing that at that point it was already far too late[[note]]Per the official police report, 18 minutes elapsed from the point where the crowd crush turned dangerous, and until Pearl Jam's tour manager communicated to the band that they needed to stop the concert[[/note]].
