Added DiffLines:

** Just look at the heartbreak on Monica's face when Chandler tells her that they may never be able to have children. Keeping in mind that she has dreamt of being a mother since ''season one''.

** Ross explaining why he's disappointed by Rachel dating while pregnant. It gets him thinking about how hard it is for him to share custody of Ben with a married couple and that he always thought his next kid would be different. He admits to Joey he used to picture being the father in a close, loving family, but now he fears that's just moving further and further away.

Added DiffLines:

*** And just to twist the knife a bit further, this is the end of an otherwise light-hearted episode. Severe MoodWhiplash.

* The series finale has several emotional moments, but their are a couple that really stand out. While we all know Rachel [[spoiler: gets off that plane]], her initial rejection of Ross at the airport and his breakdown after it are incredibly heartbreaking.

** Ross and Julie's off screen breakup, where he even outright says that the both of them cried. This is a perfectly nice, lovely girl who just got abruptly and undeservedly dumped--and at a time when things were beginning to get serious--by a guy who wants to pursue his childhood crush.

* In “TOW Joey's New Girlfriend”, while the sting is lessened by Joey not getting it, Chandler's rant about how slit-his-own-throat-in-love he is with Kathy.

While {{Friends}} is usually a very light hearted and optimistic show, it's had a few notable examples.

** Also how depressed Chandler looks when he discovers that the girl online ([[spoiler: Janice]]) he's in love with to the point of freaking people out with his not making jokes, is actually married. Even his BigDamnKiss with her at the end is played more needy than romantic.

** Arguably made worse by the funny scenes prinkled throughout the episode and even well into the prolonged argument immediately preceding the breakup. Someone who doesn't know any better could be forgiven for taking the lightheartedness as a sign that everything would be okay by the episode's end.

** And prior to that, when Rachel tells her she can't keep one of the babies. The look on Phoebe's face is ''crushing''.
