* The fate of Anna Sheridan. Her supposed death had haunted John for years, he even blamed himself for it, and then the unthinkable happened - she came back! Unfortunately, [[spoiler:she was just a puppet of the Shadows. She refused to serve them willingly, and so was forcibly made a "pilot" of their ship, which destroyed her mind. Sheridan already knows that when he goes with her to Z'Ha'Dum, and yet when he reveals his knowledge, his voice is trembling with bitter fury, and later, when that thing tells him it can "love him as well as she did", he can only look in utter disgust at the cruel mockery of the woman he loved more than life.]]

* Ivanova's utter despair in "The Hour of the Wolf", when she believes they've lost Sheridan forever. It takes a special touch to make the story of a friendship just as beautiful and just as moving as the story of a romance, but JMS did it perfectly with John and Susan; she's reduced to total heartbreak, and if anyone ever wondered just how much those two mean to each other, they certainly can't any more.

* The news in "Lost Tales" that G'Kar and Franklin are "exploring beyond the rim" together. RealitySubtext at its tear-jerkiest. And now, Zack Allen took ship and went out to join them.

*** Made especially poignant when you realise that she's asking for the ultimate sacrifice of tens of thousands of people on the minute, off chance that a few hundred people may be saved. That even with the best possible outlook, mankind will be decimated anyway.

** The prequel ClipShow movie In The Beginning verifies that his flashback was the real deal. This also has the weird effect of giving Micheal York a half-second cameo in the film.

** Also, the conversation beforehand when G'Kar finally forgives him for all the terrible things he did...let's face it, that entire episode was one big TearJerker.
*** It may take someone who is just not human not to cry as G'kar tells Londo he can't forgive the Centauri, his people can't forgive...but he can forgive Londo, and we can see how even though he can't say it, this is probably the most important moment of his life for Londo. The climax of probably the most powerful character arcs on the show played by two incredible actors.

** What makes it even worse is that, until that moment, Zoe didn't really believe she was dead! She'd even asked Lochley if she had any "junk" around earlier.

* Sheridan talking with his dad one last time before everything is about to hit the fan in "Severed Dreams". His dad doesn't know the details, but he's GenreSavvy enough to have a solid idea, and simply reassures his son that he and his mom will be alright, and that Sheridan must do what he needs to do, just like he was raised to do.
