* {{Expy}}:
** Lucas Lee seems a lot like [[{{Dodgeball}} White Goodman]]. Both arrogant egotistical muscle-heads with their own crews and franchises who take towards trying to beat the protagonist. They also sound quite alike.
** Kim Pine sounds monotonous for the most part and in utter contempt for the stupidity of her fellows. Much like {{Daria}}.

* [[EstablishingSeriesMoment Establishing Movie Moment]]: The first song heard in the film is the LegendOfZelda theme barely heard coming out of Young Neil's DS. It's a very sly but effective setting of tone.

Added DiffLines:

* BeautyIsNeverTarnished: No one in this movie ever really receives any lasting visible injuries, and this is especially heinous for Scott, who gets the ever living beat out of him throughout the movie.

Added DiffLines:

* AntiClimax: When Scott defeats Lucas Lee's stunt team, he and Lucas start running towards each other as the music and sound effects intensify, and everything dies out as we hear only thumping heartbeats. The two jump into the air...and Lucas effortlessly gives a flying kick that sends Scott flying through the backdrop.

* {{Earworm}}:
** Pretty much the entire soundtrack.
** "Threshold", as well as its 8-bit chiptune version.
** The Prodigy tune "Invaders Must Die" was featured in the trailers and is dangerously catchy.
** Many have expressed a weird affection for Matthew Patel's out of nowhere Bollywood-style musical number "Slick" as well.
** Black sheep, come home...
** The nightclub fight. From now on, whenever two girls are fighting, try not to imagine that ''thump thump thump'' bass beat.
