* In ''ComicBook/WhiteSand'', Kenton's looking for the last sphere to finish his FetchQuest exam when he spots it in the centre of a perfectly round and flat plaza of quicksand - in the middle of of mountains. He goes for it, wondering only for a moment what kind of winds would create such place... and ''of course'' it turns out to be not a geological feature but a [[SandWorm nest]].

* One Superboy comic contains what could be the ultimate in Schmuck Bait. A cage with a big sign that says "Luthor Trap to Catch Superboy" and one over the door that says "Enter here, please." He does. The bars are Kryptonite. It's [[ItMakesSenseInContext too bad]] it was AllJustADream. Otherwise that would definitely be SelfDemonstrating/LexLuthor's CrowningMomentOfAwesome. It's such an obvious trap that ''[[LemonyNarrator even the narrator gives up on Superboy.]]''

* An issue of ''Comicbook/UltimateSpiderMan'' features Jean Grey accidentally setting up her own Schmuck Bait, and getting both Peter and herself caught in it when she congratulates him on not [[OhGodDidSheJustHearThat mentally picturing her naked]]. If you didn't get it, she just said the word sequence "Picture me naked" to a teenage boy. [[AMindIsATerribleThingToRead And she's one of the most powerful psychics in the universe.]] It then runs into an OverlyLongGag as Peter tries to stop thinking about Jean Gray naked.
