* Several of the heroes in ''Anime/TigerAndBunny''. The strong, and/or fast ones (Kotetsu, Barnaby, Antonio) are durable enough to use those skills without injuring themselves. [[AnIcePerson Karina]] and [[PlayingWithFire Nathan]] are likely to have resistance to their own elements, and [[ShockAndAwe Pao-Lin]] explicitly states that a taser won't work on her. Possibly odd example in the case of Lunatic [[spoiler: who can create fire in his hands for use in his crossbow, but his flashback in Episode 16 shows that once he's set light to something (or in that instance someone) his fire can still harm Lunatic himself, as his father quite deliberately burnt young Yuri's face.]]

** Earlier on, Vanilla Ice (no, not the real one, but named after the real one) can turn into an invisible and mobile SphereOfDestruction, which removes from existence anything that touches it. Polnareff and Iggy, who have to fight him, soon discover that, because the ball is invisible, Vanilla Ice cannot see when in this form, meaning he can only attack blindly and has to emerge from it to understand what's going on.

* Liaoyuan Huo of ''Manhua/RavagesOfTime'' seems to have a HealingFactor as a required secondary power, because being NighInvulnerable as a result of not being able to feel pain is a pretty terrible "superpower" in real life; just ask any person with leprosy: they can't tell if they've been injured and lose limbs to infection. He is also a BigEater (despite having no sense of taste) presumably because of all of the calories he's burning in order to recover from injury and pull off all of his insane stunts.

** Another villain, Dabi ([[spoiler:aka Touya Todoroki]], has an extremely powerful [[PlayingWithFire fire Quirk]], but he's not immune to his own flames, which is why [[BodyHorror he's covered in burn scars held together by medical staples]]; his frequent mid-battle {{Hannibal Lecture}}s are actually a strategy to keep his body from overheating. As it turns out, this is the result of [[spoiler:his mother, Rei Todoroki, being AnIcePerson]], meaning that he got the ''wrong'' set of secondary powers.

** Boa Hancock's Love-Love Fruit powers rely on the emotion of love, lust, or adoration to have an effect. As the WorldsMostBeautifulWoman, this makes her abilities immensely powerful, as very few have a pure heart that does not hold even a small amount of affection or lust towards her. When Blackbeard tries to steal her Devil Fruit powers, Hancock informs him that her powers are only so strong due to her innate beauty, and it would be worthless for someone like [[{{Gonk}} him]].

** From the same part, Johnny Joestar's stand Tusk and its subsequent ACTS allow him to shoot his fully grown fingernails with the velocity and piercing capabilities of a bullet. It's also a good thing that Tusk is courteous enough to actually ''regrow'' said bullets within a few seconds (or a few minutes if he fires a much stronger shot), otherwise he'd have to wait from anywhere of four weeks to six months for his nails to come back and "reload".

* Accelerator in ''Literature/ACertainMagicalIndex'' has a rather interesting required secondary power: [[GoodWithNumbers mathematics]] and spatial relations. Yes, without them he could probably deflect anything anyone sent at him but he couldn't really aim. [[AttackReflector Vector control]] requires him to be able to figure out what to actually do to get the result he wants. [[spoiler:Post HeelFaceTurn he's [[GoodIsDumb notably weaker]] because of some brain damage.]]
** In fact, it's mentioned that most powers, if not all, are based on this, revealing the reason why the ability users have to study extensively to be able to get more powerful.
** Mikoto has the power to [[ShockAndAwe manipulate electricity]] which implicitly requires the ability to sense electricity. Notably, [[spoiler:her clones]] have a weaker version of her power which does not grant the same ability to sense electricity, leading them to supplement with goggles that can see more of the electromagnetic spectrum.
** Some of the others are brought up in the ''Manga/ACertainScientificRailgun'' side story. Range and accuracy are the limiting factors of Kuroko's teleporter abilities ([[TeleFrag any objects intersecting with things she had teleported are explicitly stated to be displaced]]). [[ShockAndAwe Mikoto]] uses the heat generated from her electrical abilities on two separate occasions, once to cook an opponent using a non-conductive barrier and another time on a smaller scale to cook rice in a metal canteen when the stove isn't working. In the anime Uiharu mentions a specific lack of required extras. She has the power to prevent things from changing temperature but her hands can only tolerate a normal range of temperatures limiting the potential for its use (though she's great at keeping take-away warm) [[spoiler:and there's nothing stopping her from maintaining the temperature of ''another'' object at the opposite end of the spectrum to mitigate the effect]]. Touma also has some going for him otherwise attacks like Mikoto's railgun would still be lethal as momentum keeps the projectile going even after her power has been negated.

** Yuga Aoyama can fire a beam of force from his navel. However, his stomach has little protection from the recoil, as he gets stomachaches fairly quickly when using it, and can suffer PottyFailure if he takes it too far. [[spoiler: Turns out that this was likely because he originally Quirkless, and had Navel Laser given to him by All for One]].

** Monoma Neito can copy other quirks, however he copies ''all'' of them. So quirks that take time to get going such as One For All and its stockpiling, or quirks that require physical modifications such as Tails or Wings, are useless to him as he lacks th etime to build them up and lacks the appendages to use.
** Kendō Itsuka has a number of the obligatory secondary abilities. As her hands grow larger her arms and body grow proportionally stronger to compensate for the added mass, and her fine dexterity improves to compensate for the greater size of her digits. However her power [[ExtremityExtremist ''only'']] applies to her hands, leaving the rest of her vulnerable, and as strong as her hands get they don't become signficiantly more durable, so bullets, knives, explosives, etc are still a threat to her
** Kodai Yui can alter the size of objects, however her quirk only works on inanimate objects and as a result she cannot make herself or others larger (for the combat benefits) or smaller (to make subduing or capturing them easier) and if you can deprive her of stuff that doesn't fit the arbitrary size requirement for her quirk to affect it (she notably cannot affect buildings or large vehicles) she's literally a regular human.
** Komori Kinoko can near-instantly grow mushrooms anywhere she can get her spores...the issue is she has to get her spores there first. As a result hot and dry climates significantly hamper her ability to spread her quirk out, and she remains a SquishyWizard otherwise.

* In ''Manga/{{Naruto}}'' the Fourth Hokage's "Flying Thunder God" technique lets him teleport to within a certain distance of a [[HermeticMagic seal]] which he puts on weapons and enemies, thus avoiding {{Tele Frag}}ging by only teleporting to places likely to be close to open space. Likewise Tobi once implied that he can detect things (or at least people) from great distances which would probably explain why he never teleports into random objects.
