* [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bellatrix Bellatrix]](a large blue giant star) and [[https://en.wikipèdia.org/wiki/Betelgeuse Betelgeuse]] (a red supergiant), both located in the "shoulder" parts of the constellation Orion, opposite each other. Bellatrix is a very hot star, while Betelgeuse is a relatively cool one. Both are nearing the end of their stellar lifespans, and both are likely to go out in a supernova although the former may fizzle out instead as a planetary nebula. Bellatrix if it does not explode will become a white dwarf (otherwise, it will become a neutron star) and Betelgeuse will most likely become a pulsar or neutron star. This is because Bellatrix is less massive than Betelgeuse.

* Also in World War II, UsefulNotes/AdolfHitler and Heinrich Himmler. Hitler (red) originally aspired to be an artist, was more charismatic, more aggressive, and was able to inspire supporters with his speeches, but he was very bad with paperwork and details and cared little for economics. Himmler (blue) had no artistic talent at all, was socially awkward, and was described as a better listener than speaker, but he was far more organized and methodical than Hitler was and more on top of things when it came to bureaucracy and money.

This is one of the reasons why Hitler gave Himmler almost complete autonomy in running the SS and the concentration camps.

* UsefulNotes/AdolfHitler and UsefulNotes/JosefStalin. In public, Hitler was the Red Oni. During his speeches he was very animated and explosive, whipping himself and the audience up into a frenzy. Meanwhile, Stalin's speeches were more dreary and tranquil, making him the Blue Oni. However, in private, it was reversed. Those close to him described Hitler as being very relaxed, simple, and easygoing. Some historians have even pointed to Hitler's easygoing nature as a reason for losing the war. He often shrugged off problems that later became much bigger problems, such as Hermann Goering's repeated failures with the Luftwaffe. Stalin, on the other hand, was known for his sudden fits of rage and paranoia which usually led to the infamous Soviet [[ThePurge purges]]. More high-ranking Communists were actually killed by Stalin than by Hitler.

* Among the First Triumvirate in Ancient Rome, the red was UsefulNotes/PompeyTheGreat, the fashionable and charismatic maverick who loved the spotlight, and the blue was Marcus Crassus, the behind the scenes wheeler-dealer who preferred to stay in the shadows. Creator/GaiusJuliusCaesar fell somewhere between the two.

* The Romans and the Ancient Egyptians form this dynamic. Though they were excellent strategists and warriors, The Romans themselves were very corrupt in terms of politics and how they treated foreign settlers (especially the Iceni Tribe). Conquest was all they desired, and had been thwart by nearby barbarians on multiple occasions. In the end the Roman Empire fell leaving only various remnants behind. The Ancient Egyptians however cleverly preserved their legacy to last decades in immaculate conditions, for the Egyptians it was tradition they cherished. Of course the Egyptians had their share of battles, but it was their craftwork that truly succeeded.

* Historically the Celts and the Romans formed this overtime. The Romans were highly advanced and brilliant tacticians, who kept a long legacy going even after their centurial demise many years ago. To the Roman's it was knowledge, discovery and undying obedience towards the emperor that cemented their names throughout history. As for the Celts, their story met a bitter end, the Celts were unorganized and barbaric who were quickly silenced by the Romans after the fall of Boudicca. Their defeat left them no choice but to share Britain, until eventually the Romans departed.
