Added DiffLines:

* {{Hypocrite}}: Several cases in this episode.
** During the episode, Homer is being labeled a coward and everyone makes fun of him because he was afraid... after being attacked by a grizzly bear. What kind of person wouldn't be scared after being attacked by a 500 lb animal with huge claws and teeth? The hypocritical part comes from the fact that the whole town overreacted to the one harmless bear that strolled into town in "Much Apu About Nothing".
** Another point is that the hunter who filmed Homer most likely was watching the whole incident, since he was able to film it, yet he didn't move a finger to help him, even though he's later shown to possess a gun, and it could have costed Homer his life. Who's the coward there?
** Finally, after Homer strangles Bart for mocking him, Lisa admonishes Homer for not confronting his real fear. Later, when Homer decides it's time to confront his fear and chase the bear, Lisa admonishes Homer ''again'', even though Homer is doing exactly what she told him before (other characters who had mocked Homer, like Bart, Carl, Lenny, at least join to give Homer moral support).

--->'''Grant Conner''': Now listen! The bull grizzly is 7 feet tall, weighs more than a Mazda Miata, and can tear through a tree like a Jewish mother through self-esteem.

* WhatTheHellTownspeople: Everyone mocked Homer for the bear incident. It's not as cruel as what they did to Bart on "Miracle on Evergreen Terrace," "The Boys of Bummer," and "Bart's Girlfriend," (or even as cruel as what they did to Homer in "Homer Badman" when Ashley the university student accused him of grabbing her butt and calling her "Precious Venus") but it's pretty close and shows just how petty the townspeople can get.
