* EditedForSyndication: At least on the version of the episode on Netflix, the ending of the episode with Peter playing Call of Duty is cut for some reason. This can make the 'With thanks to Infinity Ward' in the end credits baffling for people if this is their first time watching the episode.

* MoralEventHorizon: Peter's comment seconds before the supposed "end of the world," expressing shame and disgust for his children, uttered deliberately in thinking that he will have no price to pay. How sadly mistaken he is once the "April Fools Day" hoax passes without incident ... and even Peter's heartfelt apology is fruitless -- Meg, Chris and Stewie are still very pissed at their father.

* HilarityEnsues: In the ''Family Guy'' universe, Tom Tucker and Diane Simmons are allowed to get away with their April Fool's prank. In the real world, they would be fired on the spot, WQHG would have its license revoked almost as quickly, Tucker and Simmons would likely be blacklisted from working in television again and (along with WQHG) would face legal charges that would have years of repercussions.
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: Peter, believe it or not.

* HilarityEnsues: In the ''Family Guy'' universe, the Channel 5 anchors are allowed to get away with their April Fool's prank. In the real world, they would undoubtedly be fired on the spot, likely blacklisted from working in television again and would (along with WQHG) very possibly face legal charges, not to mention lawsuits that would ruin both them and the station.
