'''Original air date''': July 18, 2001

Picking up where "[[Recap/FamilyGuyS3E1TheThinWhiteLine The Thin White Line]]" left off (after a series of parodies of cliffhanger scenes from action shows, legal dramas, and soap operas), Brian settles into Hollywood, living with his CampGay cousin Jasper and taking on odd jobs in order to support himself while networking with Hollywood's many movie stars and producers -- until he gets a chance to direct X-rated movies. Meanwhile, Lois signs Stewie up for auditions for the show ''Kids Say The Darndest Things'', and Stewie uses this opportunity to brainwash the masses with his latest invention.

!!This episode contains examples of:
* BigStupidDooDooHead: {{Trope Namer|s}}. Creator/BillCosby is seen interviewing a little girl on ''Kids Say'', who cries to him about a man who did something terrible to her. She describes him has having a scar on his left arm and "a big, stupid doo-doo head."
* BitchSlap: On one of the supposed clips from former episodes:
--> '''Meg''': Face it, he's never coming out of that coma. ''(Lois slaps Meg)''
* BoundAndGagged: On the plane ride home, Peter takes porn actress Jenna Jameson with him, who is gagged and tied up with rope unwillingly.
* {{Bowdlerize}}: In the Creator/Channel4 UK and the American free-TV version, Stewie's line, "God, look at me, having sex with a pig. I've become my father!" is removed.
* CreatorCameo: The first two porn composers are Ron Jones and Walter Murphy, the show's two composers. Both are depicted as [[SelfDeprecation fat and sleazy-looking]].
* {{Pixellation}}: The Woody, being... well, [[MeaningfulName a "woody,"]] is censored by mosaics. As this was before the DVD sets began releasing episodes uncensored, there is no un-pixelated version.
* PoliceBrutality: On one of the supposed clips from former episodes:
--> '''Stewie''': You want my badge number? Here! Here's my freakin' badge number! ''(punches prisoner)''
* PreviouslyOn: Parodied; none of the scenes in said montage were ever in this show, let alone [[Recap/FamilyGuyS3E1TheThinWhiteLine the previous episode]].
* SequelEpisode: To '[[Recap/FamilyGuyS3E1TheThinWhiteLine The Thin White Line]]."
* ShoutOut:
** The episode title references the 1970s pornographic movie ''Debbie Does Dallas''.
** The pre-theme opening parodies typical cliffhanger endings in American dramas and action television series. Various trademark settings and characters are featured, e.g. the pastel suits that Peter and Cleveland wear whilst driving a speedboat around a “Miami-like” environment is an homage to the 1980s television show ''Series/MiamiVice'', while Brian’s remark that “everyone [he’s] told about the file is dead” is a reference to ''Film/{{The Net|1995}}''. Stewie shooting at the helicopter and falling through glass is much like the helicopter scene from ''Film/TheMatrix''.
** A flashback shows that Peter used to live with mass murderer Charles Manson’s “family.” Peter tells them he got an invitation to a party at Sharon Tate’s house. Manson and his followers murdered Tate and four others in 1969.
** When waiting in line for his audition, Lois points out Tom Tucker’s disfigured son also waiting for an audition, and Stewie asks in disgust “I mean really, how am I supposed to follow that act? Bite the head off a chicken?” referring to the typical behavior of a carnival side-show “geek,” although perhaps also referring to a mythical stage incident involving a bat and rocker Music/OzzyOsbourne.
** Meg’s star map shows “the actual gutter where the policeman fell over laughing when Eddie Murphy told them he was just giving the transvestite a ride home,” referring to a notorious 1997 incident.
** Peter is beaten by the Los Angeles Police Department in a manner similar to Rodney King, although he asked them to beat him as a photo opportunity.
** Brian’s porno films ''Add Momma to the Train'', ''The Purple Head of Cairo'', ''You’ve Got Male Genitalia'', and ''Shaving Private Ryan'' are spoofs of actual films ''Film/ThrowMommaFromTheTrain'', ''Film/ThePurpleRoseOfCairo'', ''Film/YouveGotMail'', and ''Film/SavingPrivateRyan''.
* SoundtrackDissonance: At the Woodys, there's an award for Best Music in a porn film. The first two nominees play very typical porn music on synthesizer keyboards by sleazy men, but the third nominee is Music/JohnWilliams, whose full orchestra plays music from ''Franchise/IndianaJones''.
* TakeThat:
** According to Brian, it's less embarrassing to admit you're invited to a screening of the new Creator/ValKilmer picture than the new Creator/KevinCostner picture.
** To Creator/BillCosby: "I'm gonna sit here and enjoy it. And I like pudding. And ''Film/GhostDad'' was the best movie I've seen since ''Film/LeonardPart6''."

Hollywood Atheist concerns the stereotypes of atheists being jerks to religious people as well as losing their faith because they've determined rampant suffering and injustice is proof there is no God. It is not about atheists who work for Hollywood.

* HollywoodAtheist: This episode centers around Brian's stint as a Hollywood director. This episode happened [[Recap/FamilyGuyS7E11NotAllDogsGoToHeaven years before Brian became an atheist]].
