* ShipTease: In the montage of images that represent everything in Jeff's 'heart', Annie pops up quite a lot. As well as her cleavage at one point.

* AccidentallyAccurate: The show generally does a pretty good job of including up-to-date topical references, so Britta's reference to "people dying in Uganda" would seem to be another instance of this in light of the media storm about Kony 2012 in the week the episode was aired, and which would be a natural thing for her to reference -- except that this episode was written and shot months before that particular story flared up, and it just happened to be pure coincidence.
** It doesn't hurt that people are always dying in Uganda.

Added DiffLines:

*HeldGaze: Two for one! Jeff and Annie exchange a meaningful gaze, completely ignoring Shirley and Andre's happiness in the foreground, and then another gaze happens when Jeff seeks out Annie's advice for writing a toast for Shirley's wedding. They look into each other's eyes before she touches his heart, saying "Maybe there's something real in there" and then we get the ShipTease montage of the things in Jeff's heart - nine of them being Annie.

Added DiffLines:

* GreenEyedMonster: Hinted to be partially what's behind Britta's intense (even for her) opposition towards / breakdown about marriage throughout the episode -- during Andre's over-the-top and romantic proposal to Shirley, while everyone else looks either thrilled with events and at least happy for Shirley, she has an incredibly sour look on her face.

*** In general, for two people who have never been married or, it appears, even in a stable relationship that's lasted longer than a few months, both Jeff and Britta are pretty certain and self-congratulatory about their cynical and dismissive views on marriage. Andre and Shirley's speech to both of them at the end is basically part a heartwarming re-affirmation of their love for each other and partly them gently-but-firmly pointing out to Jeff and Britta that they both ultimately know nothing about marriage or what it is to be married to someone else, and so should probably shut up and stop acting like idiots over it.
