* Rather tame, but from a surprising source: a 1974 ''{{ComicStrip/Peanuts}}'' strip had Marcie measuring Peppermint Patty for a dress, but she becomes embarrassed and tongue-tied as she reads the measurements, leading a frustrated Peppermint Patty to shout "Bust, Marcie! It's a perfectly legitimate sewing term!"
** A far less tame one includes Snoopy going on his Joe Cool persona. He takes off his sunglasses and collar and yells "Streaking!"!

* The very ''name'' of the current strip ''WTDuck''.
* ''{{ComicStrip/Buckles}}'' occasionally has various strips in autumn 2008 that contain sex or drug references, i.e. Buckles wearing a woman's bra (much to Jill's annoyance), and Scrappy sitting on a pile of nuts feeling drunk.
%%* ''SoupToNutz'' loves to do this. [[http://www.gocomics.com/soup-to-nutz/2012/01/11 Here's]] an '''''extremely''''' impressive example.
* ''ComicStrip/BloomCounty'' probably holds the record. When Opus worked as an editor for the classified ads in the newspaper, there was many a strange sexual reference. A classic is when a man came to Opus with a huge asparagus and said "Hi. Burt, here, would like to meet another nice big asparagus."

* [[http://www.gocomics.com/redandrover/2012/12/19 This]] ''Red And Rover'' strip. Red is stringing Christmas lights, holds up the plug, tells his dad he found the part that plugs into the wall, to which his father responds "That's refered to as the male end.". Red asks him why it's called that, causing his dad to take it back and say "Uh, perhaps "prongs" would be a better term for it." as Red holds up the socket and wonders aloud what it's called.

* Tame by the standards of its animated counterpart, ''TheBoondocks'' nonetheless has some naughty moments. One scrip has Huey and Cesar talking about Puff Daddy changing his name to "P Diddy," and they talk of how it's a stupid name because few words can be made to rhyme with it. When asking for suggestions, Cesar offers, "How about sh--" before being cut off by Huey. Also, the "N word" is alluded to countless times throughout the strip; often the necessary censorship is utilized for extra humor. However, it is debatable whether ''The Boondocks'' can be counted under this category, as it has frequently been censored, pulled, and even canceled by many papers.

* ''Nurse Nellie'', while mostly clean, managed to sneak in a few half-dressed beautiful women in doctors' offices. In one of the more memorable ones, the patient's bra and panties were made of dozens of tiny little squares of paper and the caption was "My husband sells trading stamps."
* One ''Inside Woody Allen'' strip featured this exchange.
-->'''Unidentified female character''': Hey Woody, would you ever read the dictionary while on a date with a woman?\\
'''Woody''': Only if she didn't know the meaning of "fellatio."

* ''ComicStrip/CalvinAndHobbes'' has a ''phone sex joke''. Seriously:
--> '''Calvin''': Why would it be worth four dollars a minute to talk on the telephone to goofy ladies who wear their underwear on TV commercials?
** Once, after Calvin saw Susie making a snow-woman with breasts:
--> '''Calvin's mom:''' I don't care. We're not having an anatomically correct snowman in the front yard.
** For one show and tell, Calvin told his class that his mother dons "a patriotic leotard, a cape, and knee-high, high-heeled boots" and fights crime as a superheroine. In the last panel, as the mom is handing the dad the note from the teacher he remarks, "Wow, show me that outfit sometime."
** In one strip, after Calvin says he wants a baby brother so he'd have someone to beat up, Calvin's mother asks Calvin's dad when they're getting a vasectomy (only implied, but still).
** Hobbes reads ''National Geographic'' for the [[PoorMansPorn photos of tigresses]].
