[[caption-width-right:320:Who knew Electopia was so close to [[Franchise/ANightmareOnElmStreet Elm Street]]?]]
* The concept of episode 20 in ''Axess''. Desertman and Flashman of all Navis show just how '''wrong''' using the Dark Chips are, because they slowly lose their minds to the point of insanity, being ''mindless zombies'' before being deleted (Desertman by Flashman, and Flashman by Shademan as a way of a MercyKill). And these are the ''Darkloids'' -- the antagonists! Even [[NotSoStoic Shademan]] is freaked by the end of the episode, as if he had ''no'' idea how bad the Dark Chips could be.
* In ''Axess'' episode 27, Lan and [=MegaMan=] are tempted to use the Dark Chip so they can save everyone, even though they both know [=MegaMan=] will become corrupted after using the chip. Lan struggles with the idea of hurting his best friend, despite [=MegaMan=] assuring him he's alright with making the HeroicSacrifice. In the end, Chaud and [=ProtoMan=] use the Dark Chip instead, and while [=MegaMan=] is granted Proto Soul to help save the day, [=ProtoMan=] succumbs to the Dark Chip's powers and flees with a terrifying scream.
* The corrupting effects of Dark Chips aren't just restricted to Navis. With the Dark Synchro Chips, their users are able to Cross Fuse with a greater success rate, but ''both'' the Navi and the operator succumb to its harmful effects.
* ''Axess'' Episode 44 is a fairly light-hearted episode featuring Lan and Mayl magically traveling across the world via goofy screen cuts while also trying to prevent the Darkloids from getting their hands on Mistman's lamp. The Japanese episode, however, [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4HiFVadumc takes a turn at the end.]] Lan and Mayl get lost in a dark forest, only to come across a building where they see Yuriko being murdered by [[http://i.imgur.com/cIqP2m0.jpg Jason Voorhees]] in one of windows. As Lan and Mayl fall over in surprise, a flash of lightning reveals they are about to be attacked by [[http://i.imgur.com/yLiFDYO.jpg Freddy Krueger]]. This ending is, of course, non-canon and [[BigLippedAlligatorMoment never referenced again]], but it's still a surprisingly morbid turn considering the tone of the episode up to that point. The English dub went so far as to omit the scene entirely, ending on the scene before Lan and Mayl get lost.
* In ''Axess'' 49, after the Vaccine Chip fails, Chaud tries to take back Dark [=ProtoMan=] by forcibly Cross Fusing. The result is really monstrous, and would have put Lan's life at stake had Chaud not succeeded in the IKnowYouAreInThereSomewhereFight.
* A tremendous amount of scenes involving the ocean. Plus sinking, flooding, sharks, and other hazards. Generally, if an episode takes place out at sea, expect something to go wrong.
* What happens to Lan's dad in the movie. He's a LivingMacGuffin and the key to activating the villain's main weapon. How does this work? They have to force his eye open constantly so they can shoot some kind of scanning laser into it. The film randomly cuts to him stuck in a dark chamber, screaming in agony as this is happening to him. When he's rescued, his eye is black and swollen shut.
* Nebula Grey's true form is a metal core crawling with lots and lots of wires. When [=MegaMan=] and Bass get swept up into it, the wires wrap and suffocate them, plugging into their bodies and sapping them of their power. It takes the creation of Bass Cross [=MegaMan=] to break out of this nightmarish fate.
* During episode 9 of Stream, Gauss Magnets is found guilty of enough crimes to put him away for 931 years. In Japan, a life sentence is an indefinite length with a minimum of 35 year and is only imposed for murder, terrorism, robbery, treason, kidnapping and other serious violent offenses. This means that Gauss committed enough crimes to warrant about 27 life sentences. While we saw some of the acts he committed during his time with Grave, such as swapping around everyone's banks accounts, there are multiple crimes that went unseen in the show. To make matters worse, at least two people in the audience of the sentencing are holding the pictures of dead loved ones. While one person is holding a picture that can't be seen due to a glare, the person next to them is holding one that greatly resembles a child. [[FridgeHorror Just what did Gauss Magnets do to get people holding pictures of their dead children to his sentencing]]?

* The concept of episode 20 in ''Axess''. Desertman and Flashman of all Navis show just how '''wrong''' using the Dark Chips are, because they slowly lose their minds to the point of insanity, being ''mindless zombies'' before being deleted (Desertman by Flashman, and Flashman by Shademan as a way of a MercyKill). And these are the ''Darkloids'' - the antagonists! Seeing the light fade from their eyes.... ''waaaah''. Even [[NotSoStoic Shademan]] is freaked by the end of the episode, as if he had ''no'' idea how bad the Dark Chips could be.
** The games also emphasize on how bad the Dark Chips can be, because with each use (shown in 4 and 5), Megaman gets tainted more and more until his icon is nothing but a dark version of him ''smirking''. And this coming from our Hero... brrr.
*** Thankfully, this is mitigated also with the Heartwarming effect of ''not'' using any Dark Chips causing an easy probability of Full Synchro in-game, proving just how strong the bond between Lan and Megaman can be.
* Episode 27 of ''Axess'' ends with a now Dark Chip infected [=ProtoMan=] running off after a rather unsettling scream.
** Before that, when Lan and [=MegaMan=] are tempted to use the Dark Chip so they can save everyone. Even though they both know [=MegaMan=] will become corrupted after using the chip. Lan struggles with the idea of hurting his best friend, despite [=MegaMan=] assuring him he's alright with making the HeroicSacrifice. In the end, Chaud and [=ProtoMan=] use the Dark Chip instead.

** YMMV on whether this is terrifying or just plain bizarre, as this scene is never mentioned again in the anime.

This troper tracked the film down in ''high school'' and was unsettled by that scene. When he's rescued, his eye is black and swollen shut.

This troper tracked the film down in ''high school'' and was unsettled by that scene. When he's rescued, his eye is black and swollen shut.

** YMMV on whether this is terrifying or just plain bizarre, as this scene is never mentioned again in the anime.

* The ending of Mistman's episode (Axess 44) in Japan ends with Yuriko being murdered by [[http://i.imgur.com/cIqP2m0.jpg Jason Voorhees]] and Lan and Mayl about to be attacked by [[http://i.imgur.com/yLiFDYO.jpg Freddy Krueger]].
* [[spoiler:The Dark Blues/Enzan Cross Fusion in Axess 49. Shudder.]]
** And what happens to Dr Regal in the final episode of Stream.....
* A tremendous amount of scenes involving the ocean. Plus sinking, flooding, sharks, and other hazards. Generally, if an episode takes place out at sea, expect something to go wrong.

** Plenty in TheMovie, but notable are Dr. Regal and his Happy Eye Surgery Machine and the Nebula Grey wires. (Oh, God, the ''wires''...)
