* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yL2diojhue8 4 AM]] in ''New Leaf''. While the music is unsettling enough on its own, an industrious Japanese player created an entire village meant to be visited in dream mode that is {{Creepypasta}} incarnate, and it is always 4 AM when visited. (Worth noting is the fact that, unlike the other musical examples, this one [[FourIsDeath was probably intentional]].)

** Arguably, the [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zQLvrhUXwtE 5 AM]] music. After the unsettling 4 AM music, you're treated to what sounds like a deranged arrangement of the beautiful 8 PM music. Unless you have either the Early-Bird or Night-Owl ordinance, no one else is up. The music sounds distorted and has occasional pauses, with a tribal-sounding drum beat, comparable to the 12 AM theme's woodblock sounds, giving the feel of oncoming insanity.

* [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLLRM4n1f6U K.K. Dirge.]] Nearly every K.K. Slider song is upbeat, awesome, or at least fairly relaxing. This one? It sounds like you're walking through a foggy graveyard at night. The song has multiple creepy moaning sounds, weird, glitchy sounds later on, and finally, it all stops and [[NightmareFuel we hear a]] [[LastNoteNightmare few loud bangs]]... * In the original [[UsefulNotes/NintendoGameCube GameCube]] version the music that plays at [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YrEss6dcsc8 11:00 p.m.]] as well as [[NightMareFuel the music that plays at]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odZ-OV8JWNk&index=24 midnight]] can sound really spooky for such a lighthearted game like Animal Crossing. 1 AM is fairly minimalist, but still similarly unsettling.

* The [[GiantSpider tarantula]] in Wild World onwards. Thankfully rare, if it sees you approach carrying a bug net, it [[BerserkButton flips out]] and attacks you. The horrifying part of this is that your character PASSES OUT and the screen fades to black. Luckily you end up in front of your house no worse for the wear, but it's still a horrifying event in a game where the seemingly worst fate for your character is [[BeeAfraid being stung by bees]].

* When you catch a flea off a jock villager, one response has them thanking you for 'saving their bacon'. This is disturbing when you realize there are numerous sentient pig villagers that, sometime in the past, had to have been killed for food.

** The music at [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdrjrVPAMvQ 2:00 a.m.]] also made many players jump because of how out-of-place it sounds compared to not only the rest of the late night music, but also the rest of the hourly music in the game. In contrast, the next two installments' equivalent only has this sort of tone in its ''Super Smash Bros.'' remix... but those games make up for it by doing this ''again'' (albeit to a lesser extent) with their 3 AM song (itself sandwiched between the calm 2 AM song and the incredibly minimalist 4 AM song), despite the songs for the previous few hours being more fitting.

** The [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rmtKHo7GB64 7 PM]] music somewhat falls under this category. It sticks out from the rest of the music played during the general time like a sore thumb. It has almost a creepy sense of urgency to it, almost as if sorrow is plaguing your character.

It's a wonder they haven't been Nintendo apparently didn't notice, as the only reason the towns were taken off down is because ''all'' towns were taken down when the servers yet.''Welcome amiibo'' update was released, with all dream towns needing to be uploaded from scratch (which happened with at least one such town).

*** It is actually possible to become temporarily trapped in one of the player houses. One house's main room is a maze made up of barely-visible blocks and stools that you have to jump on and rotate. When leaving the room at the end, it's possible for the player villager that owns the house to show up. Due to the layout of the house, the villager will spawn in such a way to block any exit from the house, forcing you to wait until they leave.

There's a little patch over his left eye that shows [[NothingIsScarier utter blackness]] and a pure yellow eye. ** Funny enough, Resetti ended up being optional in ''New Leaf'' because according to Nintendo, he scared the younger players and even made a few cry in some cases. This can end up averted if you aren't the mayor, though. Even if you are not the mayor, this opens the Reset Center project FOR the mayor. And the devious siblings rejoiced.

** Technically speaking, this is, in theory, a failsafe, added to prevent [[GameBreakingBug Game Breaking Bugs]]. Namely, to prevent your face from looking like an EldritchAbomination, having your inventory filled up with massive glitches, and having negative bells. In hindsight, they probably could've done that better.

** Though, these all quickly become more annoyances than anything. Either you use some medicine (by either paying 400 bells or, in New Leaf, getting some from a villager) and keep playing, or you save and quit, then reload it. As for fainting and getting sent back, it just wastes time.

* ''New Leaf'' also gives us the [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBehEwDHt74 3:33am alien message]], only available on Sunday and Monday.
* The original Animal Crossing started up with a voice saying "Nintendo" that differs depending on how many times you've loaded the title screen without powering down, with the cycle repeating. Eventually, it will start up with a deep voice saying "Nintendo" not unlike the one in Luigi's Mansion, and then while it usually shows a random character walking around, this time it shows a villager carrying an axe randomly chopping down trees. * One of the possible conversations between "Grumpy" and "Peppy" villagers. It starts off innocent enough, but the conversation ends up saying "I keep an (insert random object here) under my pillow when I sleep" from the Peppy villager. In this Peppy villager's case, she says "I keep a knife under my pillow when I sleep". The Grumpy villager will have a look of shock and says she's nuts as the chat ends. Though just awkward randomness, it is very unsettling.

*** ** Funny enough, Resetti ended up being optional in ''New Leaf'' because according to Nintendo, he scared the younger players and even made a few cry in some cases. This can end up averted if you aren't the mayor, though. Even if you are not the mayor, this opens the Reset Center project FOR the mayor. And the devious siblings rejoiced.

** Aika, a village that does something unlike any other: it tells a story. It's a horror story [[EpilepticTrees filled with more interpretations than this game has items.]] [[SurpriseCreepy It's all VERY unsettling and completely out of place in such a cute series as Animal Crossing.]] The dream address is 6B00-0026-B459.

Added DiffLines:

*** And now for a bit of Fridge Horror. Aika is a popular dream town that's visited by lots of players via the Dream Suite. After an update, it gained a new feature: various parts of blue and pink PJ outfits scattered throughout the town[[spoiler:, with creepy skeletons buried near some of said parts]]. [[TheFourthWallWillNotProtectYou The implications here are terrifying, to say the least.]]

* [[http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EjMO1-AZfmM 4 AM]] in ''New Leaf''.
