* ''Anime/MischievousTwinsTheTalesOfStClares'': Catherine. She's a calm, gentle girl who wants to become a veterinarian. She's the one who teaches Isabel how to clean shoes and make tea for the older students without judgment.

** Suzaku Kururugi starts off looking like this, but there are hints that something is up (such as his childhood best friend Lelouch musing on the fact that he used to be brash, hot-headed, and arrogant, making Lelouch wonder what could change someone so much in seven years). Later on, we learn that he's not quite as nice as he seemed in the first place, [[BrokenAce but horrifyingly broken]].

* ''Anime/{{Daltanious}}'': Prince Harlin is a benevolent person, even in the darkest of situations. His kindness attracts many to befriend him. He's even kind to Kloppen (the guy that repeatedly tries to kill him due to FantasticRacism), telling him that he doesn't view him as an enemy and they can be friends.

* ''Manhwa/IWish'' has Byeong-Hui Park. He is nice to a fault. He can't say no to a person that needs help, including giving them large amounts of money, because he can't get himself to turn someone down. Byeong-Hui also hates hurting people's feelings, so even if rejecting someone would be the better thing to do, he doesn't. Case in point, Lyu-Jin gave him chocolates for Valentine's Day once and Byeong-Hui ate them, despite being allergic to chocolate, just so she wouldn't be hurt. That's also why she's so scared of [[CannotSpitItOut confessing her feelings to him]].

* ''Manga/BlueExorcist'' has the titular character [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold Rin]] [[HalfHumanHybrid Okumura]]. Is he the [[HeroicBastard bastard]] Son of {{Satan}}? Yes. Does he have the dreaded [[HellFire Blue Flames]] of his father? Yes. Does he have [[SuperStrength increased strength]] beyond a normal human being? Yes. Does he [[RealMenWearPink cook]]? [[SupremeChef Yes]]. Despite his heritage and NoSocialSkills, [[AntiAntiChrist Rin]] is a true NiceGuy with a DarkAndTroubledPast and AllOfTheOtherReindeer backstory (with a touch of [[JapaneseDelinquents delinquency]]) who's a BullyHunter and has a BerserkButton attached to hurting those he cares for (including his [[BigBrotherInstinct younger human twin Yukio]]) and picking on the weak. He also would make a ''fine'' HouseHusband and is frankly adorable. He also ''dislikes'' and makes a point of ''avoiding'' hurting humans as a point of him being a HunterOfHisOwnKind. BewareTheNiceOnes is strongly in effect though and pushing him to far results in one getting a fist to the face followed by a brutal beatdown for most. If not outright ''[[KillItWithFire roast you]]'' if you are a demon. And even ''then'' he's willing to TurnTheOtherCheek in certain situations. Considering Satan is referred to as the ''God'' of Gehenna, one wonders if he's on his way to becoming a MessianicArchetype...

* Chrono in ''Manga/ChronoCrusade'' comes across as a gentle, sweet boy that's often abused by his more HotBlooded partner. And he ''is'' a genuine NiceGuy that "doesn't want to hurt anyone". However, he has the DarkAndTroubledPast and BerserkButton mentioned in the description, which means that when someone threatens one of his friends (''particularly'' Rosette), [[BewareTheNiceOnes things will turn out badly]].

** Lucoa is a mountain of sage wisdom and kindness, [[CoolBigSis being a reliable being to anyone she comes across]]. Her only real flaws are acting like a ComedicShotacon towards Shouta and being a ShamelessFanserviceGirl, but even those are implied to be misinterpreted culture blindness rather than actual depravity.

** [[ActionGirl Rangiku]] [[BuxomIsBetter Matsumoto]] is a lazy, HardDrinkingPartyGirl, but she's also very friendly and acts like a CoolBigSis to a number of characters, particularly Orihime and Hinamori.

* Randel Oland from ''Anime/PumpkinScissors'' has this in spades, in addition to being a KindheartedCatLover and a GentleGiant. [[BewaretheNiceOnes Just don't piss him off.]] [[ImplacableMan Seriously.]]

* In ''LightNovel/AscendanceOfABookworm'', Maine is generally very sweet and caring, though she does have a habit of not realizing when she's causing problems for other people. This actually bothers an attendant she gets later on because she interacts with him on a largely equal basis rather than behaving as his superior. To him, this reads as not fulfilling her role to behave with dignity, which reflects badly on him for ''serving'' an undignified master. Apart from that, her general good nature often leaves her unable to see when others might try to exploit her.
* ''LightNovel/TheAsteriskWar'':
** [[TheHero Ayato]] is a polite young man who believes there is goodness in everyone.
** Same with Kirin Toudou, who's sweet, kind, and polite despite her shyness.

* Despite being a [[IdiotHero moron]], and sustaining physical abuse from his ''friends'', Akihisa from ''LightNovel/BakaAndTestSummonTheBeasts'' is generally a nice guy, and even HELPS the same friends who hurt him on a daily basis when they are in need.

* ''LightNovel/BlackBullet'':
** Enju Aihara is a 10-year-old cursed child and Initiator who (like many of the cursed children) [[AllOfTheOtherReindeer is treated as trash in society]], yet she has a kind, polite, friendly personality and a sweet young girl at heart. So nice that you want to [[LittleSisterHeroine take her home as a little sister]].
** Seitenshi is a 16-year-old girl and a ReasonableAuthorityFigure ruler of Tokyo who happens to serve as a caring and compassionate motherly figure to many of the characters in the series. Heck, she's even pushing for civil rights for the cursed children.
** [[FriendlySniper Tina]] [[{{Cloudcuckoolander}} Sprout]] was ordered by [[BigBad Ayn Rand]] to assassinate Seitenshi. Despite being an assassin ordered around by Ayn Rand, Tina happens to be a very friendly girl at heart who happen to befriend [[TheHero Rentaro]] when she first met him. [[spoiler:In fact, her kind-hearted nature of her personality and her hesitation to kill someone makes Rentaro realize that Tina isn't an evil person at heart and isn't the kind of person who is willing to kill someone out of free will.]]

* Jinto from ''LightNovel/CrestOfTheStars'', almost to the point of self-effacement. He's also IronWoobie and TheQuisling at the same time and thus makes an interesting protagonist despite having a less flashy personality than some of the other characters.

* ''LightNovel/DateALive'' has two prominent examples: [[TheHero Shido]], who risks life and limb to protect the Spirits and give them the opportunity to have normal lives, and [[ShyBlueHairedGirl Yoshino]], who would rather run away from a fight instead of harming another living creature.

* ''LightNovel/DemonKingDaimao'': Despite his damning status as [[TheAntichrist the future Demon King]], [[AccidentalPervert Akuto]] [[HeroWithBadPublicity Sai]] is probably one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet and only wants to help make the world a better place. Will anyone listen to him? [[SelfFulfillingProphecy NO!!!]]

* ''LightNovel/{{Durarara}}'':
** There's Tom Tanaka, who's primary character trait appears to be that he is the lone normal, untraumatized, nice guy [[DysfunctionJunction in a city of absolute nutters]]. Bizarrely, it's [[BecauseYouWereNiceToMe this very trait that let him befriend]] the ''most'' unstable character in the series, [[TheBerserker Shizuo Heiwajima]].

* The eponymous Haruka from ''LightNovel/HarukaNogizakasSecret'' is a really, really nice moe girl and also, an otaku.

* ''LightNovel/MyNextLifeAsAVillainessAllRoutesLeadToDoom'':
** Catarina used to be a spoiled brat until she hit her head one day and got back the memories of her past life as a normal schoolgirl. Unable to take her noble title so seriously anymore, she became super outgoing and friendly, as well as [[NiceToTheWaiter completely blind to things like social status]]. And maybe she gave herself some brain damage in the process. Furthermore, since Catarina knows that her spoiled behavior was going to lead either to exile or to dying in one of several horrible ways, she keeps trying to avert her bad ends... but for the most part, her plans go nowhere, and instead she averts her bad ends just by being a nice person. For example, her adoptive brother Keith was supposed to grow up bullied by Catarina, shunned by her mother (who mistakenly believed Keith to be her husband's illegitimate child), and starved for affection to the point that he became a shameless womanizer--and he murdered Catarina in one ending. In the new timeline, Catarina's initial attempts to be nice to him backfire, but her apology endears him to her, her mother ends up discussing the situation with her father and realizing that Keith isn't his bastard, and they grow up as a happy family. In fact, she's so kindhearted that [[spoiler:she's outright immune to [[MoreThanMindControl the negitive emotion enhancing effects]] of dark magic.]]
** Maria, meanwhile, remains a kind and considerate girl regardless of the timeline: in the timelines where Catarina remains an AlphaBitch, she helps her LoveInterest deal with their issues; in the main story's timeline, she brings Catarina sweets and helps her with her studying and homework; and in the timeline of the ''Verge of Destruction Arc'' spinoff, her reaction to Catarina's sudden change of personality after hitting her head is genuine worry over whether she's alright, despite the fact Catarina and her cronies had been in the middle of bullying her.

* Takehiko Yoichi from ''LightNovel/NyarukoCrawlingWithLove'' wears the term "nice guy" like a glove. Being a minor character he doesn't get much screentime, but he's cool enough to pass off Nyarko's madcap antics as merely being "energetic", and at one point remarks "My best friend has a cute girlfriend, and that makes me as happy as if it had happened to me." [[spoiler:About the biggest thing that's happened to him so far is [[GrandTheftMe temporarily having his body hijacked]] by a time-traveling alien extremist.]]
** [[DudeLooksLikeALady Hasta]] as well. Cute, sweet, cuddly and good-hearted young boy. So much so that of all the characters in Mahiro's harem that consist of Franchise/CthulhuMythos, he's the only person who didn't receive the wrong end of the fork from Mahiro.

* In ''LightNovel/RascalDoesNotDreamOfBunnyGirlSenpai'' pretty much all the main characters fit. Sakuta and Mai are very kindhearted and pleasant individuals, ready to help the ones in need and [[spoiler:sacrifice themselves to save others, as Mai did]]. The other characters, such as Shoko and Sakuta's best friends Futaba and Kunimi, count as well. That said, this is is a rather idealistic series, especially compared to similar psychological novels.

* Yuji of ''LightNovel/ShakuganNoShana'' is an interesting variation of this whose niceness actually does get him girls. Ironically, instead of stifling romantic conflict, his niceness is also his greatest flaw, actually creating romantic conflict in the first half of Season 2, where he completely fails to realize that he can't give attention to every girl who's attracted to him without hurting the feelings of someone else, thus making him an accidental MasterOfTheMixedMessage. And his friend Hayato ''does'' call him out on that. [[spoiler:Eventually, he becomes less so through the course of the series and averts it after merging with the Snake of the Festival.]]
** While Yuji is a NiceGuy in all of his media incarnations, the anime tends to gloss over or even omit his ruthless streak (such as trying to kill Shana's mother figure Wilhelmina in retaliation for almost killing him), which is much more prevalent in the light novels and anime. [[spoiler: This has the unfortunate side effect of making Yuji's [[FaceHeelTurn Face-Well-Intentioned Extremist Turn]] particularly jarring, rather than the natural evolution of his character.]]

* Rimuru Tempest from ''LightNovel/ThatTimeIGotReincarnatedAsASlime'' is a ''very'' personable guy. Back when he was a human he threw himself in front of a guy's knife to save his co-worker and girlfriend's lives without hesitation, and in his slime reincarnation his excitable and kind nature have allowed him to befriend an imprisoned dragon, quell a war between goblins and wolves and make both sides become friends, and form friendships with some of the most powerful beings in the new world. It ''does'' help that [[SuperpowerLottery he's got one of the most broken power and skill sets around]], but he always tries to settle things peacefully and politely before using them, and that has earned him the respect, admiration, or love of all his subordinates. He didn't even ''try'' to form his own kingdom, it just kind of came together from all the people his attitude united.
** That being said, if you launch an unprovoked attack on his kingdom, [[BewareTheNiceOnes you will]] [[GoodIsNotSoft regret it.]]

* Ryuuji Takasu from ''LightNovel/{{Toradora}}''. He's a tad [[NeatFreak obsessive-compulsive]] and has the FaceOfAThug, but he's reliable, patient, supportive and hard-working.

* ''LightNovel/UndefeatedBahamutChronicle'': [[TheHero Lux]] is defined by his righteousness and benevolence, to the point he destroyed the very kingdom he was supposed to inherit, simply because his father was an evil bastard.

* [[IdolSinger Eriko Hara]] from ''[[TheAnimeOfTheGame Venus Project: Climax]]''. She gets along real well with pretty much everyone, she lives in an orphanage and befriends many of the kids living there, and in a flashback, she also shows remorse for [[TheRival Ruka Sovagasky]] when she loses in Eriko's debut match. She also has a sense of honor, when she shakes hands with her defeated opponent after the first round of the Formula Venus tournament in the second episode of the anime.
