* Ravage in ''Franchise/{{Transformers}}'', though he was rarely a threat to other Transformers, was not someone humans wanted to deal with.

[[AC:ComicBooks]]
* ComicBook/RasAlGhul from ''Franchise/{{Batman}}'' sounds like this. For extra running bowel-trembling terror-ness, Ra's al Ghul means "the demon's head" in Arabic.

[[AC:{{Literature}}]]
* The Ra'zac from the ''Literature/InheritanceCycle''.

[[AC:WebOriginal]]
* From Wiki/{{Killerbunnies}}, we have Razelle Anne Serchendistroy. Interestingly, her name is an actual but uncommon name and, ironically, (along with being a variant of the name "Rachel), despite it's spelling, her name means " ewe, lamb daughter", not what you'd expect.

** Semi-example: [[{{Transformers}} Bonecrusher]]
** Devastator. [[ExactlyWhatItSaysOnTheTin He devastates things.]]
*** Or any use of the name, really. The Harkonnen Devastator from the ''VideoGame/{{Dune}}'' games is the biggest, baddest tank around. In VideoGame/DukeNukem3D, Devastator is the local BFG. In WorldWarII, the Douglass Devastator was a torpedo bomber used by the Americans early in the war, before it was replaced by the Grumman Avenger.
** Decepticons in general. You'd at least figure the world would realize you can't ''trust'' one. It's not 'til 25 years after their debut when, in ''TransformersAnimated,'' someone actually brings up the name thing. (Jazz: "Deceived by a Decepticon. Who knew?")
** Ironically for a guy named Bludgeon, he actually prefers bladed weapons. Doesn't mean he won't [[GrievousHarmWithABody beat you to death with your buddy]] if he feels the motivation, though.

** His live-action version in ''Series/{{Jessica Jones|2015}}'' (as he's prevalent in the original comic, ''Comicbook/{{Alias}}'') is actually Kevin Thompson, who chose Kilgrave during his EvilMakeover. Jessica even mocks him:
-->Kevin. I know it's [[SpecialPersonNormalName mundane]], but Kilgrave? Talk about obvious. Was Murdercorpse already taken?

* ''Series/JessicaJones2015'': Kilgrave's assumed name is lampshaded a few times as something a middle-schooler would think sounds scary.

* A rare protagonist example, ''VideoGame/Doom2016'' has the Doom Slayer, a rather more extreme version of the typical Doomguy/Doom Marine. Applies in-universe as well as his name refers to the [[LegionsOfHell Legions of Doom]], and every demon in the game is afraid of him because of how effective he is.
