* ShoutOut: The band is named after a quote from ''Film/RevengeOfTheNerds'', though this was not intentional. Original drummer Arata Nishi asked Music/ModestMouse bassist Eric Judy to name his band after a gig, but Judy was too drunk, so he just wrote "Ogre You Asshole" on Nishi's arm. OYA wouldn't find out the origin of the statement until six years later at the latest, when they also named their second full-length album, ''Alphabeta vs. Lambda'', after the ''Revenge of the Nerds'' films.

Ogre You Asshole are a Japanese PostPunk band, formed in 2001 and named after a quote from Film/RevengeOfTheNerds. Though they have certainly garnered attention for their outlandish name, they've maintained a loyal fanbase with their dreamy, melodic guitar pop and their consistent album and EP release schedule since 2005. The band are heavily influenced by Music/ModestMouse, as well as Music/{{Fugazi}}, Music/TalkingHeads, and Music/GangOfFour, among others.
