* AwkwardlyGayDream: When Yuusuke is trying to come back from the dead, but needs someone to kiss him in order to transfer a spark of life energy to "jump start" him, Kuwabara gets a dream in which he does just that. It gets better: Yusuke had to provide the dream ''himself'' (as a ghost, he could communicate through the dreams of the living, and Kuwabara is extremely susceptible. Yusuke did this to help him study for a test once). The kiss has to be from one of the three people who care about him the most -- who turn out to be his mother, his not-quite-girlfriend Keiko, and Kuwabara, who was a big time AntagonistInMourning. Yusuke was horrified, but he did it anyway. Kuwabara thought it was a hellish nightmare, kissing Yusuke's dead body.

* TerminallyIllCriminal: It is revealed at the end of the Chapter Black StoryArc that the reason why Sensui wanted to open the interdimensional tunnel between the human world and Makai (which in turn allows all demons who live in the latter realm to invade the former) is that he's suffering from a terminal illness, and wants to challenge the strongest demon possible in battle before his passing. The tunnel is opened in the end, but Yusuke, himself revealed to be the descendant of a powerful demon, defeats Sensui afterwards.

** Yusuke has no organizational skills interest, so he doesn't put much effort into organizing the tournament aside from the general tone, rules for qualification and the prize. Due to this gap, an ad hoc committee forms to do the finer details of the organizing, finding an MC, etc.
** Yusuke announces that the tournament is open to every demon in demon world, which has thousands of demons sign up for, including ones that haven't been heard from in centuries. Due to this, his method of choosing opponents by selecting their name-etched on marble-like currency is rendered moot and an ad hoc committee forms to organize a replacement lottery for the qualifying round, and a bracket for those that pass.
** Three of the participates are former kings, while the throne can technically go to anyone, they have a much stronger chance of winning, since their kingship was based on the fact that they were the strongest around. Many of the other participates who found themselves in a qualifying round with said former king, realized they didn't stand a chance, and turned tail.
** Yusuke doesn't use his authority as tournament sponsor to do anything but make a specific request: live and let live. Unlike the Dark Tournament, where killing and maiming your opponents is encouraged, he wants everyone to survive in order to join in future tournaments. This upsets some of the audience, since they want to see the carnage, but many see the logic behind his argument.
** Yusuke has no formal training or practice in public speaking, and is BookDumb, so the speech was made written-by-the-seat of his pants, with a lot of hesitations and heart-filled words.

Misuse. This is for when someone gets their gender confused despite putting no effort to look feminine, not when they deliberately want to do so for personal preferences. The example description is also factually incorrect, mixing different motivations from dubs with the original Japanese version (and the original version is the only one with the Viewer Gender Confusion, with completely different motivations as seen in the YMMV's page).

** In one of the earlier chapters, Yusuke fights a bewitching FemmeFatale who tries to use her femininity to make opponents underestimate her, trying to play on an opponent's WouldntHitAGirl sense of chivalry. After a CrotchGrabSexCheck, Yusuke finds out it's just a regular guy fighter dressing like a girl to trick opponents. Yusuke even berates him for not being a ''real'' transvestite, in one of the series' [[OutOfCharacter odder]] moments of open-mindedness on Yusuke's part. Miyuki accuses Yusuke of violently attacking her because of 'what she is'. He calls her out, saying if s/he hadn't been in the way of the mission, he wouldn't have attacked her at all. In the EditedForSyndication American dub that aired on Creator/CartoonNetwork, [[ShesAManInJapan all the references to the female fighter actually being a man were changed]] to the fighter being a {{Manipulative B|astard}}itch who fakes her injuries so she can make her male fighters feel guilty about beating up a woman -- and uses that moment of weakness to strike back.
