* ComicallyMissingThePoint: In the OVA, Saki makes a point in her alliance with Vice-Principal Numa by showing him her yo-yo badge, expecting him to be shocked as a police chief was earlier in the episode. However, Numa instead becomes confused and asks her if it is a toy badge.

* TheFilmOfTheSeries: Three Two, plus another which is not the film to any of the series, but is connected to one of them.

* ActionGirl: Saki

to:

* ActionGirl: SakiSaki.
* AdaptationalVillainy: It's established that Saki's mother is in jail for killing her husband, but her sympathetic reasons to do so (that he was a violent abuser who made her life hell) are omitted in some continuities, thus making her a murderer without redeeming qualities. The OVA notably adapts the abuse story out and replaces it with the theory by Remi that she simply went insane.

* ArtisticLicenseMartialArts: In the OVA, where Saki and her opponents often bust very high-flying moves.

* EveryoneCallsHimBarkeep: "Saki Asamiya" is her codename; her name before that wasn't given.

* WrestlerInAllOfUs: Like the average manga of TheEighties, it contains references to puroresu. Only in the first OVA, Saki takes out a mook with a palm strike and rams other two with a double lariat.
* YouDontLookLikeYou: Saki in the manga is a tall, lithe, 17 year old with pink hair and anime “European” features. Saki in the live action is shorter, younger, wider, with Japanese features and has black hair. When seen side by side they look nothing alike. The one you like more is YMMV.

* CardCarryingVillain: The Mizuchi clan is made up of these, especially Remi. Remi never goes on rants defending her hideous actions or her quest to dominate the world as anything ''but'' because she's pure evil, and even freely admits to being completely nuts.
