* FamilyOfChoice: What ultimately led Tamaki to create the Host Club, and for a good while of the story he takes quite literally as he believes his love for Haruhi to be fatherly when it's actually romantic.

* FamilyOfChoice: What ultimately led The Host Club is this for Tamaki, to the point he assignes everyone roles within it... with Haruhi as his daughter, Kyoya as the "mother," the twins (according to one omake and the occasional brother/sister reference) as their "eldest sons" and Mori and Honey being the couple who lives next door... We wonder if Tamaki to create notices the Host Club, and for a good while of the story he takes quite literally as he believes his love for Haruhi to be fatherly when it's actually romantic.HoYay or not. The fans sure do.

* HeroicBSOD:
** With Tamaki on two occasions. First time is spoiler:after he's realized his feelings for Haruhi (reason being he's afraid what it will do to the Host Club if he pursues her), and second time is when he learns how his father went behind his grandmother's back and had her fired.
** The last episode of the anime counts too considering Tamaki. If you've read the manga to beyond chapter 80, the similarities between the chapters beforehand and the anime's end is quite striking.

* AccidentalTruth - The personas Renge invents for the boys in Episode 4 of the anime are all spot on except for Haruhi and Mori(who is only nominally a main character), just not for the reasons she dreams up. Doubles as Foreshadowing. Examples:

* AdaptationInducedPlotHole: A small, but still noticable one. In the manga, Kaoru at one point tells Haruhi how he and Hikaru always likes the same things, and because of it, he wonders what they'll do the day they like something there is only one example of. It serves as foreshadowing that both he and Hikaru would fall for Haruhi, leading to a big rift between them in a manga arc. In the anime, it is implied to be only Hikaru that falls for Haruhi out of the twins.

A LiveActionAdaptation began airing in Japan in July 2011.
2011, and a live-action movie was released in 2012. There is also a VisualNovel for the UsefulNotes/PlayStation2, which was later ported to the UsefulNotes/NintendoDS with voices and new scenarios. Unfortunately, none of these have left Japan.

** Towards the end of Episode 19, Haruhi is trapped at a tall pedestal while being chased by Benibara, and notices Tamaki at the ground telling her to jump to his arms. She jumps off, with Tamaki standing arms-stretched-out and with sparkly eyes as he clearly awaits the romantic moment of him catching her - only for the height of which she jumps from naturally making her very heavy and crushing him as she comes down.

** The penultimate episode of the anime has Kyouya point out to Tamaki that all their club's themes' outfits and accessories cost a lot of money to buy and transport from other countries. Curiously, this is never brought up in the manga, or if it is, the answer there is simply that they can afford it anyhow, while it is brought up in the anime to serve as one of the smaller dilemmas before the finale.
