* QuestForSex: ''Arachnid'' and ''Caterpillar'' end with [[spoiler:Alice and Hanakamakiri leaving their partners Gokiburi and Imomushi. The latter two swear to find and shag them even if they need to rape them]].

* RecycledInSpace: ''Arachnid'' is a DenserAndWackier ''Jackals''. ''Caterpillar'' is much of the same except it is set on a cruise ship. And then came ''Manga/KillingBites'', ''Himenospia'' and ''Choubu no Shinobi'', which all have similar plots and carry the fun facts narration format ''Arachnid'' started.

* AsYouKnow: Chapters 26 of ''Arachnid'' and 25 of ''Caterpillar'' begin with a recap of the current situation. Justified in the latter case since the story had been on hiatus for nearly a year.

** Chapter 59 of ''Caterpillar'', first released while ''Arachnid'' was nearing its end, spoils the major plot twist of [[spoiler:Yoriko]] being the Organization boss, though it doesn't refer to them by name or explain how they came to be this way. Later, when Hanakamakiri confronts Suzumebachi in the Arachnid Hunt, he gives her and the reader the gist of what the Boss is trying to accomplish. Once Hana leaves with an injured Imomushi the story then skips to the aftermath of the event.

* {{Crossover}}:
** There's a short gag crossover with ''Manga/AkameGaKill''. Tatsumi and Lubbock are inexplicably visiting Alice's school. Lubbock is eager to meet the fellow spider assassin, but she's nowhere to be seen and instead we get [[ManlyGay Bulat and Hibiki]] shaking hands. Also, Alice's uncle is there for some reason.
** There was a short non-canon HotSpringsEpisode between ''Arachnid'', ''Caterpillar'' and ''Manga/KillingBites''. And a [[https://twitter.com/jojojon/status/986962866421968897 food contest comic]], too.

** Oki is brought along by Alice after being defeated and becomes her most trustworthy friend. It helps that Oki turned out to not have kidnapped Yori and just wanted [[PsychoLesbian to make Alice her slave instead of killing her]].

* SequelHook: ''Arachnid'' and ''Caterpillar'' close with several loose ends and an TheEndOfTheBeginning situation, as the Organization [[spoiler:gets an unknown new leader (it's implied Alice will end up taking over somehow) and starts a zombie apocalypse in Japan to curb the country's population and start some sort of utopia]]. Kabutomushi and Gokiburi are shown looking around for a missing Alice, suggesting they'd be the protagonists of a hypothetical sequel.

* ProductionForeshadowing: Chapter 25 starts with an AsYouKnow narration that suggests bug-themed assassins have been around since ancient times. The 2017 manga ''Choubu no Shinobi'' establishes itself as a prequel in the Sengoku period by reusing the group shot of the assassins during a similar narration. Oddly enough, the samurai character in the panel got redesigned for the latter one.
