* Popular religious figures of all sorts whose doctrine is seen even by the masses as flat-out erroneous will have their fans pull out the jealousy card on the critics, saying "look how many people who got saved because of their ministry" or something to that effect. Even worse, in the case of Christian televangelists like Word Of Faith and "prosperity gospel" teachers on and Creator/Daystar, critics are often accused of being "heresy hunters" with "Jezebel spirits" that are "touching the Lord's anointed" and "blaspheming" or "quenching the Holy Spirit" if the religious figure's teachings are accompanied by miraculous healings of a dubious nature that goes against the Scriptures, even if they use Scripture erroneously as their defense. Some of the big-name preachers have even gotten as far as actually pronouncing death threats and curses on their opponents during their broadcasts.

Added DiffLines:

* In one episode of Series/BrooklynNineNine, after seething with jealousy over Jake's close bond with his old partner, Charles discovers evidence that the partner is corrupt. When he confronts Jake with the evidence, Jake accuses him of being jealous. In a rather unique twist on the trope, instead of trying to deny or deflect the accusation Charles scathingly points out that of course he's jealous, it was blindingly obvious and he was never trying to hide it.

Added DiffLines:

* People taking the pro-Israel side in the UsefulNotes/ArabIsraeliConflict often argue that critics of Israel are simply antisemites jealous of Israel's economic and military success while being surrounded by the Arab failed states. "We made the desert bloom" is a classic example of this kind of rhetoric.

* Reed Richards tried to warn Victor von Doom about a mistake in an experimental setup; Doom decided that Richards was trying to hold him back out of jealousy and ignored the warning. The experiment proceeded to literally blow up in Doom's face, scarring his features (and his ego). Unable to admit that he Pride could have possibly been wrong, Doom decided that it must have been someone else's fault; namely, Reed's. His entire vendetta against the ComicBook/FantasticFour started with this.
