* In ''Literature/EmpireFromTheAshes'' the Emperor and Empress's second son is named Horus Gaheris [[=MacIntyre=]] with his middle name coming from one of the Imperial families dogs. Although in this case the dogs in question are genetically engineered to have human-level intelligence and Gaheris was severely injured saving the Empress from an assassination attempt shortly before the son was born making this more a case of naming a child after a close friend rather than a pet.
