* In chemistry, any salt of Uranium in which the Uranium has a positive charge of four (for instance, [=UCl=][[subscript:4]]) is called "Uranous [anion's name]", so the above example would be Uranous chloride. ** And some of the Uranium Oxide anions are known as "uranate." So you can get compounds like Sodium Uranate, Curium Uranate, etc.

Attempts to rectify[[labelnote:*]][[HehHehYouSaidX huh huh, you said "rectify"]][[/labelnote]] this usually try to vary the pronunciation ([[{{It Is Pronounced Tro-PAY}} It Is Pronounced YOO-ruh-nus]], although sometimes people get this wrong and say "urine-us", which is just as bad). * In ''Webcomic/{{Nedroid}}'', Beartato ''tries'' to teach the reader about Uranus [[http://nedroid.com/2011/06/where-to-find-uranus/ here]], but Reginald won't stop giggling about it until they get lost. Luckily, they come across the planet [[spoiler: Buttfart]].

It really isn't. There are three things that change the pronunciation, and their combined effect completely changes the sound of the word. The first part (and the cause of the other two) is the syllable border - Ur-a-nus vs U-ra-nus. Secondly, a syllable-final R is pronounced (nearly) like A in German, so it's Ua-a-nus vs U-ra-nus. Finally, a glottal stop is added to any part of a compund beginning with a vowel, so we end with Ua-'a-nus vs U-ra-nus, which sound *very* different. Chances are, if you actually tried to make that pun, no matter which pronunciation you used, the connection would not be made.
Needless to say, this trope is almost exclusive to the English language, since other languages use different words (or at least different pronunciations) for "Uranus", "anus", and "your". Despite being seldom used it's also applicable for the German language ("ur" being [[UrExample the prefix for something old]] and "anus" being just the same as in English).
