* ''Anime/PokemonTheSeries'':
** In the Japanese version, Brock said this towards Casey, the baseball-obsessed girl from Johto. Brock said she'd be 'fun' in eight years. In the English dub, he wondered if she had an older sister.
** In an early episode, a DirtyOldMan told Misty that she'd be fun in eight years. In the English dub, he says that she reminds him of his granddaughter, which unfortunately just makes it sound worse.

* In one episode of ''Series/{{Castle}},'' the eponymous character makes the paper as one of New York's most eligible bachelors. Not only does basically every woman they meet in the episode feel the need to comment on it, but his teenage daughter comes home with several requests. After she mentions one elderly teacher- "Too old?"- she mentions that one of her classmates is also interested, and ''she'll'' be eighteen in a few months. Castle isn't interested though.

* Scene: a car, parked on a Lover's Lane. A policeman approaches, and shining his light inside, sees a teenaged girl sitting in the backseat filing her nails, and a somewhat older-appearing boy sitting in the front seat reading a magazine. He looks at the girl more closely, then asks her, "How old are you?" She says "17", then looks at her watch and adds, "For 22 more minutes."

* Lord Archive subverts the ''Manga/CardcaptorSakura'' trope with mentions in his fic ''Becareful What You Wish For.'' with the third-grader aged up considerably, but not enough. She even mentions they have been trying to get pregnant, even though she's only thirteen.

This page mentions HollywoodProvincialism five thousand times, because most things filmed in Hollywood rely on California's age of consent, 18. In other states, let alone other countries, the age of consent can be a year or two younger, or even ''much'' younger.

* "House of Fun" by ''Music/{{Madness}}'' is a comedy number about a boy trying to [[TrojanGauntlet buy condoms]] on his sixteenth birthday (the age of consent in the UK), although it doesn't state whether he has someone specific who's been waiting, or if he's just hopeful.

* The short story ''[[Literature/TheDresdenFiles Bombshells]]'' has a protagonist [[note]]Molly Carpenter[[/note]] who invoked this on herself. After the man she confessed to rejected her on the basis that she was underage, she decided to wait. Not give up on the idea- just wait several years.

* A common theme in Laurence/Emily Roland fan-fics for Creator/NaomiNovik's ''Literature/{{Temeraire}}'' series. Especially emphasized since Laurence is 31 as of 1805, while Emily is, consequently, only 10 years old as of the same year. Even with aging both characters, that's a massive 21 year age difference...not to mention that Laurence [[spoiler: slept with, and even proposed to, Emily's mother, Jane Roland]], the fact that Laurence [[OedipusComplex is old enough to be Emily's father]], and [[ParentalIncest and other squick factors]].
