Villains are inordinately fond of doing this in chairs that aren't theirs as well. Villains [[ChairReveal will surprise you by draping themselves]] on TheHero's chair, with an ambush, an EnemyMine offer or AnOfferYouCantRefuse, or to prove how badass they are prior to [[HeelFaceTurn joining up more permanently]]. If there's an armrest on the chair, especially if it's a royal throne, odds are good that the character will adopt the Sitting Lion Beast pose and rest one elbow on it, with the hand tucked neatly under his chin, while sporting either a self-satisfied smirk or a glance of disdain. It's extra cool if they're drinking AGlassOfChianti.

As mentioned with TheStarscream point, this is a subtle way of insulting the person whose seat it belongs to. It's extra cool if they're drinking AGlassOfChianti.

Compare with LeaningOnTheFurniture. Related to RebelRelaxation and is often a case of OrcusOnHisThrone. A neutral (non-villain) variant is RecliningReigner. Contrast KingpinInHisGym, when the villain prefers to do something a bit more active than lounge around on furniture. Do not confuse with [[PeopleSitOnChairs]].

* Freeza from ''Manga/DragonBall'' sits in a flight chair. He ''flies'' with it, he kills people with his finger beam while sitting on it. He even sat on it when he destroyed the planet Vegeta.

* Freeza from ''Manga/DragonBall'' has several examples:
** Freeza
sits in a flight chair. He ''flies'' with it, he kills people with his finger beam while sitting on it. He even sat on it when he destroyed the planet Vegeta. In his case, it demonstrates that he's a lazy, spoiled rich kid who won't even walk if one of his hideously expensive gadgets can do it for him.

Added DiffLines:

** Super Buu has terrible posture whether he's standing or sitting, fitting both his RubberMan powerset and his rude, crude LowerClassLout personality. His iconic pose is a standing slouch, shoulders slumped and head cocked to one side as he watches his foes with annoyance or amusement.
