* Ed from ''WesternAnimation/EdEddNEddy'', in contrast to [[SevenDeadlySins Eddy]]:
** '''Charity''': He is one of the [[NiceGuy nicest]] characters in the show, trying to help out others in a whim, as well as to share things with his friends, even at the cost of whatever he has.
** '''Chastity''': While he has a crush on Nazz, he never really show any lustful intents onto her, or anybody else.
** '''Temperance''': While he is a BigEater, he shows that he ''can'' control his hunger when he needs to. In "Don't Rain On My Ed," for example, he chose to save Edd [[ItMakesSenseInContext from a chicken parade]] instead of trying to run to get free jawbreakers with Eddy.
** '''Diligence''': He is one of the most helpful characters in the show, trying to help out his friends with their schemes, as well as Sarah, even though [[BrattyHalfPint she]] [[{{Jerkass}} doesn't really deserve it]].
** '''Paitence''': Aside from "Little Ed Blue" (and even then, [[spoiler:it turns out that he was that way due to a [[MinorInjuryOverreaction pebble in his shoe]]]], he is one of the few characters on the show who rarely gets angry.
** '''Humility''': He often values others and their well-being over his own.
** '''Kindness''': Ed is one of the [[NiceGuy nicest characters of the show]], [[KindheartedSimpleton despite his stupidity]].

Since the virtue of Temperance heavily involves balance (as in the balance of any sort of consumption, not just the tangible kind), the trope of Balance Between Good And Evil can represent as its own exemplifying linked trope (which is further evidenced when considering the fact that "too much" means it's a bad thing).

* '''Temperance''' (Latin: ''Temperantia''): Being Controlled in Self. The moral decision slopes encountered through life are slippery, and it is easy to descend into unintended but [[WellIntentionedExtremist well-intentioned extremism]]. Restraint, temperance, justice. Constant mindfulness of others and one's surroundings; practicing self-control, abstention, moderation and deferred gratification. Prudence to judge between actions with regard to appropriate actions at a given time. Proper moderation between self-interest, versus public-interest, and against the rights and needs of others. That analogy considered, this virtue is like using [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crampons crampons]] made out of justice. Those in command of this virtue realize the legitimacy in several different points of view and maintain a neutral perspective dealing with issues that might cause HeroicBSOD in others. This virtue often leads to being able to TakeAThirdOption. This virtue is a speciality of a BadassPacifist and usually the GuileHero. The angel who embodies the virtue of Temperance is Cassiel. '''Opposite of [[VillainousGlutton Gluttony]].'''

* From Creator/TerryPratchett's Literature/{{Discworld}}: In the country of Lancre, one family went and named their daughters after the SevenHeavenlyVirtues, Faith, Hope, Charity, Prudence so forth. And out of a misinformed sense of continuity, named their sons along the lines of Bestiality and Anger (among others). Subverted, because each child went on to embody the opposite of their name. For example, Hope became a manic-depressive, while Bestiality was always very kind to animals. This may have been part of a long-standing naming tradition: a patriarch of the family is named as Miscegenation Carter.

* In Garth Nix’s ''Literature/KeysToTheKingdom'' series, the SevenHeavenlyVirtues are exemplified by the seven pieces of the Will, although an alternate system is used with the four Cardinal Virtues and the three Theological virtues. In order of appearance: Fortitude, Prudence, Faith, Justice, Temperance, Charity, and Hope. These characters are highly unbalanced and are supposed to become more reasonable as they merge into one entity.\\

* In the ''TabletopGame/NewWorldOfDarkness'', all characters have both Vices and Virtues corresponding to the SevenHeavenlyVirtues and SevenDeadlySins. Virtues (such as Charity or Faith) take much more work than Vices to fulfil, but fully restore Willpower when pulled off, as compared to Vices which damage the KarmaMeter (but boost the Willpower stat). In alphabetical order, the seven virtues are Charity, Faith, Fortitude, Hope, Justice, Prudence, Temperance.

* ''WesternAnimation/HazbinHotel'': For a Princess of hell, Charlie embodies each of these virtues.

** Chastity: Charlie is easily one of the most morally wholesome characters in the show and lives a very "clean" life free from the many hedonistic pleasures found in Hell. While [[TheBartender Husk]] noting that [[InVinoVeritas Charlie confides in him suggests that she might occasionally drink]], it’s never to the point of addiction and she never uses drugs or indulges herself in unhealthy behavior. It's also implied she and Vaggie have a very active, happy sex life but the two are in a monogamous and committed relationship as opposed to most Sinners.

** Charity: Everything Charlie works toward is for the betterment of others at no gain to herself. She’s very content with the idea of Sinner living in the hotel for free as long as they want to redeem themselves and in the prequel comic she gave to Angel Dust a hefty sum of money as an “investment in him”.

** Patience: Even when she has to deal with shady jerks, she tries to be professional and civil to them, and when she does lose her cool, it’s either in self-defense, or because those people earned her hatred for good reasons (such as Adam and Valentino).
** Kindness: She’s really wants to redeem Sinners with having nothing in return, and she willingly forgives those who wronged her as long as they genuinely repent. [[spoiler:In the past she even saved Vaggie, who at the time was recently injured and banished from Heaven by Lute and Adam with no questions asked, although she mistook her for a Sinner who had a close call with an Exorcist]].
** Humility: Despite her being The Princess of Hell, she never uses her status or her powers to boss people around nor looks them down upon, and instead goes to great lengths to protect them. When Adam asks her why she would give up her immortal life for Sinners during their battle, she immediately responds that everyone in her hotel is her family.

* ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'': the [[TrueCompanions six lead characters]] each represent one of these virtues (except Humility), sometimes through the Elements of Harmony. Fluttershy's and Rarity's are actually the names of two of the virtues, which are Kindness and Charity (which is sometimes referred to as Generosity).

*** Humility is arguably symbolized by Princess Celestia, Twilight's mentor and the BigGood. She treats everyone as an equal, despite being royalty, and works tirelessly for the betterment of her subjects. [[spoiler:In the backstory, she banished her sister Luna, who she loved deeply, to the moon- because it was the only way to save the world from Luna's eternal night.]] Notably, Celestia is the one who encourages Twilight to make friends, thus teaching her that there's no shame in accepting help from others.
*** The ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyEquestriaGirls'' spin-off series later introduced Sunset Shimmer (Celestia's previous student and Twilight's predecessor) who was the ''[[{{Pride}} opposite]]'' of humble, but became much more self-conscious and caring over the course of several movies. At first Sunset was an ambitious but arrogant AlphaBitch who thought she deserved alicornhood more than Twilight, and plotted to get back at her teacher and her successor. Being defeated by the heroes utterly shattered her self-confidence, lead to her seeking atonement under their guidance and then having to ''really'' work towards making everyone accept her again. In the end, she does earn their forgiveness, begins to regain her old confidence ''and'' at the same time becomes much more understanding and humble, even managing to befriend Twilight when they start bonding over their similarities. Unlike the other six Sunset doesn't have an "official" Element of Harmony in-universe, but WordOfGod always refers to her corresponding character aspect as Empathy/Forgiveness.
