Robin [=McKinley=] is an American fantasy author, whose works often have active female heroes.

She has written two novels and a number of short stories in the world of Damar. ''TheBlueSword'' was a Newbery Honor book and ''TheHeroAndTheCrown'' won a NewberyMedal.
