Rachael Ray is a TV cooking-show host born August 25, 1968, best known for her show ''30 Minute Meals'' on the Creator/FoodNetwork, being one of the [[MsFanservice biggest draws]] for said network's male audience, and for her perky personality. She also hosts a TalkShow, which is syndicated by Creator/{{CBS}}.

It should be noted (and is ''constantly'' noted by actual professional chefs who overhear people getting this wrong) that she ''isn't'' a chef. She is, rather, a former sports-journalist who taught herself to cook; her cookbooks were ghost-written for her by actual chefs, and the recipes she uses on her show are likewise prepared for her by actual chefs. This should not be construed as taking anything away from Ms. Ray's charisma or her talent as a television host, or from her enthusiasm for and talent at cooking.

'''Shows she's hosted:'''
* ''30 Minute Meals''
* ''Rachael Ray's Tasty Travels''
* ''$40 A Day''
* ''Rachael Ray''
* ''Rachael Ray's Week in a Day''

----
!!This TV chef contains examples of:
* BigEater: Well, ''[[CaptainObvious duh]]''!
* ButIPlayOneOnTV: She's not actually a chef. Doesn't stop anyone from calling her one though, to the irritation of actual chefs.
* CatSmile: But that great big toothy grin of hers is the real thing.
* CatchPhrase: "Yummo!", "Delish", "EVOO" for extra virgin olive oil, [[http://www.squidoo.com/rachael_ray and a few others]].
* BorrowedCatchphrase: "[[WesternAnimation/TheSimpsons Mmm, something"]].
* FullyAutomaticClipShow: Her talk show staff made one about her discussing the costumes on DancingWithTheStars, usually calling them [[FromACertainPointOfView "tiny."]]
* DoNotAdjustYourSet: Used to promote an episode featuring Regis Philbin on WABC-TV, where ''Live!'' airs immediately before ''Rachael Ray''.
* GenkiGirl: Very, very much so.
* HiddenDepths: Her fandom of indie rock music is as surprising as NBC news anchor Brian Williams'. [[http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/23675900/ She hosted her own stage at the 2008 South by Southwest festival]] featuring artists she personally selected, and did it again in 2009 and 2010.
* MilestoneCelebration: Rachael's 1000th talk show had lots of surprises, and a giant, flashing 1000 on the set.
* MotorMouth: See the note about her hatedom above.
* MsFanservice: [[SarcasmMode Yeah, it's perfectly normal for TV chefs to shake their hips on their way to the fridge.]]
** Actually, nowadays it ''is'' increasingly normal for TV chefs, for better or worse. That being said, Creator/FoodNetwork ''pioneered'' this.
* RefusalOfTheCall: She originally didn't think she was good enough to be on Food Network, saying "You're champagne, I'm beer." The executives assured her that they ''liked'' beer.
* ShoppingMontage: Every episode of her {{Travelogue Show}}s has one. [[OnceAnEpisode Every. Single. One.]]
* TravelogueShow: ''Rachael Ray's Tasty Travels'' and ''$40 A Day''
* VocalEvolution: Her voice has gotten a lot raspier and her accent has deepened as she's gotten older.

* HollywoodPudgy: Let's just say that in choosing to cook rather than act on TV, she's avoided this pitfall.

* FetishFuelStationAttendant: Seriously, how many guys actually watch her show for the ''food''?

* {{Hatedom}}: It is worth noting that there is a serious Rachael Ray hatedom that says she talks too much. Her neologisms like "EVOO" and "sammie" also rub some people the wrong way.
** A large part of this {{Hatedom}} is made up of working chefs, who dislike her for the many mistakes, inaccuracies, and outright fabrications she has created among the general public about their profession and about cooking in general.
*** As Anthony Bourdain put it, "My biggest problem with Rachel Ray is the bad sanitary practices she's teaching her audience. She never washes her hands, she uses the same knife to cut her meats as her vegetables, without washing them either... she's a walking case of ''E. Coli'' waiting to happen."

** Expect to still see people accusing her of being fat, though.
This list shows the last 10 events of 32. Show all.
