* In ''Disney/BeautyAndTheBeast'', after saving Belle from the wolves marauding the woods near the castle, the Beast looks at her briefly and then falls down into the snow.

* ''[[Film/TheAvengers2012 The Avengers]]'': Film/IronMan, after helping save New York from an alien invasion and a tactical nuke, was found lying on the street, nearly comatose. After he regained consciousness, he didn't have any particular desire to sit up again right away;
-->"Alright. Hey. Alright. Good job, guys. Let's just not come in tomorrow. Let's just take a day. Have you ever tried shawarma? There's a shawarma joint about two blocks from here. I don't know what it is, but I wanna try it."

Added DiffLines:

* The hero of ''VideoGame/DragonAgeInquisition'' almost makes [[spoiler:a HeroicSacrifice in order to let the rest of the residents of Haven evacuate]]. After successfully deterring the BigBad, s/he must plod through a swirling blizzard in order to reach everyone else. In true {{Determinator}} fashion, they only allow themselves to lose consciousness once they're within sight of the camp.

Added DiffLines:

* In ''Literature/HoratioHornblower'' novel ''Lieutenant Hornblower'' (which is narrated from Bush's point of view), Bush manages to get through the Spanish prisoners about to seize the ship, but he's so full of fighting madness that he has no idea of the nine wounds he incurred in doing so. When Hornblower arrives with the prize crews to lead a counter-charge, Bush tries to join them and ends up flat on the deck with increasingly muddled thinking as he nearly bleeds to death.

* "The Reigate Puzzle", a story from the original ''Literature/SherlockHolmes'' canon, begins with Holmes ill in a hotel room after solving an enormous case. This is why food and sleep are good things to have, Mr Holmes.
-->''Even the triumphant issue of his labours could not save him from reaction after so terrible an exertion, and at a time when Europe was ringing with his name and when his room was literally ankle-deep with congratulatory telegrams I found him a prey to the blackest depression. ''

for many days).

Even the knowledge that he had succeeded where the police of three countries had failed, and that he had outmanoeuvred at every point the most accomplished swindler in Europe, was insufficient to rouse him from his nervous prostration.''

A character, despite long odds [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome does something awesomely cool]]. Maybe they get a HeroicSecondWind that let's them [[HoldTheLine survive long enough]] for the bad guy to give up and leave them alone, or maybe they just won a particularlly difficult fight that they didn't think they could win.

** In ''Discworld/{{Jingo}}'', Vimes convinces his arch-rival Lord Rust that he's some sort of {{badass}} by handling hot coals (emulating a story about Film/{{Lawrence of Arabia}}). Then he waits until Rust leaves to clutch his hand in pain. ("Are you quite sure he can't see me?" "Not unless he can see through camels, sir.")

A character, despite long odds [[CrowningMomentOfAwesome does something awesomely cool]]. Either a HeroicSecondWind that gets the bad guy to leave or give up without a fight, or maybe he jumps into the fray and beats TheDragon down with his bare hands.

But, after he's sure the bad guys have left or been taken down, he promptly collapses, whether from the stress of dealing with someone who completely terrified him, or the guy he just talked down could have broken him in half without a sweat, or because [[PowerStrainBlackout he overtaxed his power too much]], or just because he got hurt too badly in the fight. If it was really bad, [[LogicalExtreme they may even]] [[YouAreAlreadyDead die]], making this a HeroicSacrifice (albeit an [[DyingMomentOfAwesome awesome]] one). Less serious injuries may start the action back up with an AfterActionHealingDrama.

* Happens occasionally to Kazuma in ''LightNovel/KazeNoStigma'', though he's too BadAss to pass out entirely, he tends to spend a while lying flat on the floor. Usually making snarky comments. Or possibly looking up skirts. It's explained that his [[SuperMode 'Contractor' state]] is rather exhausting to use, leaving him severely weakened after it runs out, thus handily explaining why he doesn't use it all the time.
