* ''ComicBook/{{Marsupilami}}'' comics occasionally use this, since not all characters speak the same (or any) language.
** In one comic, a white hunter and an indigenous Palombian discuss why they want to capture a marsupilami. The hunter's speech bubble shows him receiving an award near a caged marsupilami, while the native's bubble shows the tribe celebrating him while roast marsupilami is being served.
** In another comic, a pilot accidentally throws his boot in a native's face. The native's speech bubble shows a pig wearing the pilot's signature hat. This is followed by a bubble in which the pig is stuck full of knives, spears and arrows as the native advances on the pilot.

* ''VideoGame/SuperAnimalRoyale'' has a factory staffed by crabs. [[MakesJustAsMuchSenseInContext No, don't bother to ask why.]] The important thing is that these same crabs also litter the island's beaches and, if you dance next to them, will do the Crab Rave dance with accompanying [[SuspiciouslySimilarSong music]]. Try that here, though, and they'll just grumble at you with a speech bubble containing either a frustrated scribble or [[CantYouReadTheSign a picture of the "no dancing sign" you're ignoring]].

Pictorial Speech Bubbles are generally used in two ways. First, to show the general gist of what the character is saying, without focusing on what their exact words are. Second, to represent the character's general mood, attitude or thoughts, even when he isn't specifically saying anything. It's not always easy to tell the two variations apart.

* Done many times in ComicBook/{{Dollicious}}, usualy with characters in the bubbles being drawn in more simplified, Kawaii-like sytyle and played for over the top comedy. In one story Pho ask Birthday Cake to explain her magic trick and she do it one banel of her dialog being replace by mini-Birthday Cake doing the trick step by step. Few mute stories are done 100% in this style, which leads to some great comical moments such as Spaghetti going on a rant how could Ramen left Gnocchi with Tagliatelle and calling Ramen "brainless" by a cute picture of smiling Ramen whos brain flies of her head.
