* In the ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' fan comic ''[[https://www.deviantart.com/wallycolours/art/White-Eclipse-309072252 White Eclipse]]'', Princess Luna is sad and lonely because nopony appreciates her beautiful nights, but it turns out one pony does: a filly named White Eclipse, who also likes to stay up late looking at the moon and stars. They become good friends and play together, but one night, White Eclipse sees a comet streaking toward the moon through her bedroom window. She runs to Canterlot Castle, and finds out that Luna has turned into Nightmare Moon and been banished to the moon. White Eclipse is greatly saddened by this, and throughout her life still continues to stargaze in Luna's memory. 1,000 years later, after Luna has been restored to her true self, Celestia brings her to White Eclipse's gravestone, which has the epitaph: "Luna, although we are separated due to events out of our control, our time together was the best of my life. Thank you."

* Paris Geller of ''Series/GilmoreGirls'' considers Rory this. She's a JerkWithAHeartOfGold, but Rory is the only person who has the patience to sit through the "Jerk" side. According to Paris, everyone else leaves the room when she talks. When when he returns to the show in season 6, one of the signs of his massive CharacterDevelopment is that he now co-runs a publishing house with two friends in Philadelphia--which he's still running in the 2016 revival.

* Billy from ''VideoGame/{{Kindergarten}}'' used to be this to {{Cloudcuckoolander}} CreepyChild Nugget, at least until he mysteriously disappeared [[spoiler:due to being kidnapped by the principal to be used as a human guinea pig]]. Nugget's mission centres around the protagonist offering to take Billy's place as this and and having to find the Five Nuggets of Friendship to prove himself worthy.
