!!Tropes included in this series :
* AlternateHistory
* AlternateHistoryWank: Arguably one for Sega, although the company admittedly never dominates.
** Also arguably for the Game Boy, since there is never a valid competitor for it like the PSP was in real life.
* AlternateTechline: Seventh generation consoles Revolution and Pluto are more powerful than our timeline's Wii, but weaker than the PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360.
* AlwaysSecondBest: Sega to Nintendo, even if it is only by a small amount in the Dreamcast-era.
* TheAnimeOfTheGame: StarFox of all things gets one.
* ArcadePerfectPort: What this timeline's more powerful version of the Dreamcast becomes known for.
* BalkanizeMe: Inverted, as companies such as Square and Enix never become united.
* CocaPepsiInc: ANS is a recently formed combination of Atlus, Namco, and Sammy. It makes sense in context.
* UsefulNotes/ConsoleWars: It's been Nintendo vs. Sega for over two decades, with neither side ever gaining a decisive victory.
* CrapsackWorld: A bit of an overstatement, considering the light-hearted subject matter, but video games as an industry and an art form have progressed far less than in our timeline.
** CrapsackOnlyByComparison
* [[CurbStompBattle Curb-Stomp Battle]]: Basically, every time the Game Boy series has a competitor, this happens to it.
* DifferentWorldDifferentMovies: Some games like ''Mother 3'' are on different platforms and released at different times than in our timeline.
* DuelingGames
* E3: Held every year since 1995, though some years are more exciting than others.
* ForWantOfANail: One man's ability to let a grudge go changed an industry.
* InSpiteOfANail: Nintendo still manages to decline and rise at similar times as in our timeline, albeit to a lesser extent.
* IstanbulNotConstantinople: The Wii equivalent keeps its original codename "Revolution," and the Wii U equivalent keeps the codename "Stream." Also, it's the "Game Boy 3DS."
* Killer App: Every successful console eventually gets one. The main exception is the Pluto, which was left in the dust from 2006 to 2008.
* MediaWatchdog: More prevalent than in real life, thanks to gaming's lesser popularity bringing less defenders.
* MultiPlatform: Less common than in real life up until the seventh generation of consoles. And even then, there is still a wide PC/Console divide.
* OddballInTheSeries: ''Mother 4'' takes a very different tone than ''Earthbound''. What else would you suspect from the guy who made ''Shadow of the Colossus'' in real life?
* RetroUniverse: 20 years after the point of divergence, a lot of the big names in gaming are still big.
* RichardNixonTheUsedCarSalesman: Not everybody entering the gaming industry ends up in the same place. Some don't ever enter it at all.
* SlidingScaleOfAlternateHistoryPlausibility: Types I and II.
* SpritePolygonMix: Used frequently on the Saturn.
* SuperTitle64Advance: Game Boy 3DS games use the phrase "3D" a lot. ''Mario Kart'' is named "Nitro" on the Game Boy Nitro.
* TheWikiRule: Wikia is actually where the entire project is hosted.

* CharacterTiers: Apparently, in this world's version of ''Super Smash Bros Melee'', the Ice Climbers rank fairly highly.

* HilariousInHindsight: A few months after the timeline was started, a real life prototype Sega console named Pluto was revealed to the public.
