* ''Franchise/{{Metroid}}'':
** Most boss fights in ''VideoGame/MetroidFusion'' involve fighting whatever powerful creature the X-Parasites have copied and then fighting the Core X in its natural form.
** The eponymous FinalBoss of the first ''VideoGame/MetroidPrime'' game attempts to escape from Samus each time it takes a certain amount of damage. The two opponents dive further into the interior of the Impact Crater until reaching the bottom, where the final phase of the battle takes place.
** Every Temple Guardian in ''VideoGame/MetroidPrime2Echoes'' has at least two phases. It can also make OneHundredPercentCompletion with scan logs rather troublesome, as not only will a Temple Guardian have up to three distinct stages, but it often has body parts that count as separate individual scans.
** In ''VideoGame/MetroidPrime3Corruption'', Berserker Lord (in whose first phase Samus can only find a way to start inflicting damage onto it in the second), Meta and Omega Ridley, Helios, Gandrayda (due to her ability to shapeshift into different characters and enemies), and Aurora Unit 313 (the FinalBoss) are sequential bosses. The good news is that they only have to be scanned once each.

** The fight between Anakin and Obi-Wan is also a type six because their fight gets interrupted when the volcano erupts and they have to run and find cover so they don't get pelted with red-hot gravel. Then the structure they're on gets weakened by lava and collapses, leaving them stranded on it in the middle of a river of lava.
