* Light has one in the last episode of ''Manga/DeathNote'', which is also a bit of a HannibalLecture about how the world needs Kira and if they stop him the world will only go back to the rotten way it was, and [[spoiler:Near is only chasing him for his own ego.]] The latter was actually true.
** So was the former, at least about the world returning to its pre-Kira state -- [[WordOfGod according to Ohba]], [[spoiler:crime rates went back up after Light's defeat]], proving that it was only fear keeping people in line.
* Happens a lot in ''Manga/MajinTanteiNougamiNeuro''.

* [[spoiler:Adachi]] gets one as the player traverses his dungeon in ''VideoGame/{{Persona 4}}''. At the very end, he's given a ShutUpHannibal by the protagonists and called out for his senseless motives.
* [[VideoGame/BlazBlue Yuuki Terumi]] gives one in an attempt to [[CorruptTheCutie drive Noel Vermillion]] [[JumpingOffTheSlipperySlope off the slippery slope]], thus making her regress into [[OmnicidalManiac Boundary]] [[RobotGirl Interface]] [[CloningBlues Prime]] [[HumanWeapon Field]] [[PersonOfMassDestruction Device]] [[BrainwashedAndCrazy Mu-12]], stating that the world is nothing but lies, everything should die because the only truth out there is despair, and he sure as hell will show them by having Mu-12 destroy Master Unit Amaterasu.

* Take most ''VideoGame/SuperRobotWars''' {{Big Bad}}s, from [[Anime/MobileSuitGundamCharsCounterattack Char Aznable]] to [[VideoGame/SuperRobotWarsCompact2 Neue Regisseur]]. They usually have Motive Rant when they encouter each of your main characers in the last few missions. This mostly results in ShutUpHannibal.

* After [[spoiler:Zemo]] turns [[spoiler:Iron Man]] against Captain America in ''Film/CaptainAmericaCivilWar'', he explains to Black Panther why:
-->[[spoiler:'''Zemo''']] [[Film/AvengersAgeOfUltron My father lived outside the city, and I thought we would be safe there. My son was excited. He could see the Iron Man from the car window. I told my wife, "Don't worry. They're fighting in the city. We're miles from harm."]] And the dust cleared, and the screaming stopped. It took me two days until I found their bodies. My father still holding my wife and son in his arms... And the Avengers? They went home. I knew I couldn't kill them. More powerful men than me have tried. But if I could get them to kill each other...

* ''TheSimpsons'' [[MemeticMutation did it]]. In "Sideshow Bob Roberts", when Lisa insinuates that Bob is too stupid to have rigged an election and claims Bob's [[NoCelebritiesWereHarmed Rush Limbaugh look-alike]] accomplice is the real brains of the operation, Bob flies into a rant about how he (and only he) had the brains to orchestrate everything, parodying the ''AFewGoodMen'' quote above. He is then promptly taken to jail for "all that stuff [he] did" with unusual expediency for the Springfield police.
* In ''TransformersAnimated'', Wasp breaks into one in "Where Is Thy Sting," justifying his revenge on Bumblebee. While Wasp does have every right to be pissed, [[TenLittleMurderVictims Bumblebee isn't the one who framed him...]]
* Practically every ''ScoobyDoo'' story ever written ends with one of these, once the villain's been unmasked. And of course, he would've gotten away with it too, if it weren't for YouMeddlingKids.

** Scooby expy ''ClueClub'' does as well. Larry will break down how the crime was committed using physical clues and forensic evidence provided by Dotty before identifying the culprit.

* ''VideoGame/ModernWarfare2''. 30,000 men. You know the one.
** Say what you will about [[spoiler:Shepherd having crossed the MoralEventHorizon, but after his simple but passionate statements about the sacrifices he has had to make, you can no longer look at him using simple Black and White morality.]]

* [[spoiler:Jimmy Stewart]] gave a melodramatic but effective example of this in ''[[Film/TheThinMan After the Thin Man]]'', in which he plays a painfully bland "nice guy" for 90% of the film, only for us to watch his character flip out in a fantastic performance in the final denouement.

-->'''Edgar''': You see, according to Cocteau's plan, I'm the enemy, 'cause I like to think; I like to read. I'm into freedom of speech and freedom of choice. I'm the kind of guy who likes to sit in a greasy spoon and wonder, "Gee, should I have the T-bone steak or the jumbo rack of barbecued ribs with the side order of gravy fries?" I WANT high cholesterol. I wanna eat bacon and butter and BUCKETS of cheese, okay? I want to smoke a Cuban cigar the size of Cincinnati in the non-smoking section. I want to run through the streets naked with green Jell-o all over my body reading Playboy magazine. Why? Because I suddenly might feel the need to, okay, pal? I've SEEN the future. Do you know what it is? It's a 47-year-old virgin sitting around in his beige pajamas, drinking a banana-broccoli shake, singing "I'm an Oscar Meyer Wiener". You live up to, you live Cocteau's way: what he wants, how he wants, when he wants. Your other choice? Come down here, maybe starve to death.
