* The canon version of Elsa from Disney/Frozen is not this, however most modern AUs usually turn her into this. Elsa is depressed and anxious in canon but this gets exaggerated into her being a socially inept NEET. Part of this is due to fans having difficulties transferring her character into a modern, powerless world. They end up making her a shut-in because she suffers from depression and social anxiety, instead of having her depression coming from hating her powers. Another reason for this is because of the popularity of the fanfic Fanfic/R9kElsaIsSuffering.

** Samus herself sometimes get this treatment. Jokes have been made that Nintendo simply forgotten her birthday as the series hadn't received MilestoneCelebration for their 25th and 30th Anniversaries. Often shown to be sad as she celebrates it alone. Not to mention there's VideoGame/MetroidOtherM.

** Abbadon the Despoiler, or, as fans like to call him, Failbaddon the Armless. Though the character canonically is a very badass and dangerous villain and is one of the most dangerous units in hand-to-hand in gameplay, the fact he led no less than Thirteen crusades against the Imperium, and still failed to destroy it led to the development of his Fanon fanon portrayal as a GeneralFailure.

Even as Gathering Storm started to turn things in his favor, he hasn't quite shed his Failbaddon reputation.

* Delphox in VideoGame/PokemonXAndY, who is mocked for not being as good as Greninja or Chesnaught. It mainly suffers from a middling offensive typing and PoorPredictableRock, but many now use the Kalos Fire Starter as an example of how far Psychic types have fallen since their reign of terror in Gen I.

* Bubsy the Bobcat is perhaps one of the most (in)famous examples in video game history. The complete failure of his own franchise, along with the character himself being insufferably annoying, has made Bubsy a common source of mockery among gamers (and the public in general).

* If Misuzu Kamio from VisualNovel/Air will ever be remembered for anything big, it's her death at the very end and nothing else. Fortunately, there's VideoGame/EternalFighterZero, where Misuzu appears as a playable character, a strong yet tricky TrapMaster.

* Franchise/HarryPotter: The entire HufflepuffHouse has a reputation for being the "loser" house at Hogwarts due to them being almost completely irrelevant to the plots and often being Flat Characters (especially in the films). Cedric Diggory is the only prominent member of said house in the series and he was in his debut book/film.

Dialogue from the books seem to indicate that they are memetic losers in-universe as well.

** General Grievous is this due to going from feared, four-armed Jedi-killer in WesternAnimation/StarWarsCloneWars into an all flash no substance coward in Film/RevengeOfTheSith. The Clone Wars tries to reconcile both reputations in that he actually does kill a few Jedi, but always runs away when he knows he can't win.

* Wrestling/KevinNash tends to mostly be remembered for the time he tore his quad on Raw while walking across the ring. He's hardly the only person to have suffered such an injury (Wrestling/TripleH has had multiple quad-tears and Wrestling/VinceMcMahon managed to tear both of his in one night), his unpopularity with the Smart Marks made sure he never lived it down. Now the fandom convinced anything he does will cause his quad to tear.

* Wrestling/RosaMendes is universally agreed to have been the most useless Diva on WWE's roster, especially since she was employed for nine years (eleven if you count her time in developmental). She was used as a jobber, only receiving one win and that was via DQ. Based on this information, it isn't really memetic though.
