** [[http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-1048 SCP-1048 ("Builder Bear")]]. One of SCP-1048's creations, SCP-1048-A (a teddy bear made out of human ears) gave off a high-pitched shriek that caused intense pain in the ears and eyes of everyone within 10 meters. All persons within five meters started growing ears all over their bodies within 20 seconds and died within three minutes.
** [[http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-1420 SCP-1420 ("Tartary Eggs")]]. One of the creatures hatched from SCP-1420 could produce a sound that rendered nearby human beings unconscious. It later died from internal hemorrhaging in its throat.

Occasionally, characters with this power sometimes also have the CompellingVoice ability, if the character has sufficient fine control over it.

GlassShatteringSound is a sister trope for sounds that only shatter brittle materials. A non-weapon and adorable example would be CuteButCacophonic. Sometimes combined with RazorWind. Can overlap with BreathWeapon. Compare LoudOfWar, MusicalAssassin and the sonic variants of BrownNote. For a related but less lethal weapon trope, see SonicStunner. Sound sources other than voices that have a physical effect on people or things are covered by GaleForceSound.

Added DiffLines:

An occasional variation has entirely normal people able to use their voices as a weapon against a bad guy or monster who has loud noises as a WeaksauceWeakness. This is often used to subvert the helplessness and pathos often associated with the ScreamingWoman.

The power of sound. Able to [[GlassShatteringSound shatter glass]], crumble rocks, and knock down buildings. Er, in the world of fiction, anyways. Characters who have super-powerful screams or other sound-based superpowers can usually do something like vocal mimicry, scream out sonic booms, and screech so loud it can paralyze people by making their eardrums bleed.

It's also interesting to note that in RealLife, versions of this power would be AwesomeButImpractical, seeing as a sonic boom would practically level everything in a spherical radius from the hero. Comes with an unusually high level of RequiredSecondaryPowers (most importantly, super-resilience in their own eardrums), and often involves AcceptableBreaksFromReality -- a visual that indicates the sound -- to depict.
