The trope was ''very'' common in adventure (especially Westerns), comedy and romance films from the late 1940s through the 1960s, especially in movies set in pre-20th Century periods. Movies of those genres set in the 19th century, particularly the [[UsefulNotes/VictorianBritain Victorian Era]] and TheEdwardianEra, were particularly prone to feature such scenes because of the elaborate design and trimming of lingerie in those periods, as well as the support and figure-shaping qualities noted above. While UsefulNotes/TheHaysCode restricted the extent to which lingerie could be shown, that particular stricture was more honored in the breach than otherwise, especially as standards liberalized following World War II.

* [[UsefulNotes/TheBronzeAgeOfComicBooks Bronze Age]] series ''Superman Family'' featured a reasonable amount of scenes where ComicBook/{{Supergirl}} lounged around her home wearing nothing but undergarments.

* A well-known scene in ''Film/TwentiethCentury'' features Creator/CaroleLombard's character Lily in her underwear with an open dressing gown covering her shoulders. Some like to believe that this was one of the factors that caused UsefulNotes/TheHaysCode to come into play a few years later.

* ''Film/DiamondsAreForever'': Tiffany Case spends most of her first scene wearing just a bra and panties. At the start of the scene, she's [[ToplessnessFromTheBack just wearing the panties]], but puts on a bra to make herself presentable for her meeting with diamond smuggler Peter Franks (who is being impersonated by James Bond).

* ''Film/DiamondsAreForever'': Tiffany Case spends most of her first scene wearing just a bra and panties. At the start of the scene, she's [[ToplessnessFromBehind just wearing the panties]], but puts on a bra to make herself presentable for her meeting with diamond smuggler Peter Franks (who is being impersonated by James Bond).

** While in the other book Barbie is a bridesmaid at a wedding, and at one point both Barbie and the young bride-to-be are revealed to be wearing nightgowns under their pink bridesmaid dress and wedding dress (also magnets), respectively, as they are about to get dressed before the ceremony begins; Barbie wore a plain lavender ankle-length nightgown with a black lace outline, straps, and decorative ribbon on the bustline; while the bride wore a white floor-length nightgown with a peach flower pattern, straps, and decorative ribbon on the bustline (they probably slept in them when not under their dresses, maybe they're first supposed to be worn underneath the dresses during the ceremony, and then be undressed during wedding night, where they then become nightgowns) [[note]] See more information about this below [[/note]].

* ''Franchise/DragonAge'' and ''VideoGame/MassEffect2'' and ''[[VideoGame/MassEffect3 3]]'' are all set up so that the most undressed any character gets is down to their underwear. The first ''VideoGame/MassEffect1'' did include videos involving naked people and CensorSteam, ''VideoGame/MassEffect3'' does a reasonably good job of placing the camera to obscure the fact that characters are still wearing underwear for any relevant scenes.
