* ''Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer''

* Ditto for Brittany and Santana in ''Series/{{Glee}}'', though they prefer linking pinkies. Though, they do intertwine fingers in "Hold On To Sixteen".

* Stefan and Elena from ''Series/TheVampireDiaries'' intertwine their fingers and hands together when they make love for the first time in season one.

* ''Series/{{Torchwood}}'' has Captain Jack Harkness and the real Captain Jack Harkness intertwine fingers in "Captain Jack Harkness".

** ''Series/StarTrekVoyager''. A very sweet one in "Resolutions", when Janeway and Chakotay are stranded on a planet and realise that they have no choice but to spend the rest of their lives together. Chakotay gets there quicker than Janeway, and tells her an "ancient legend" about [[AnguishedDeclarationOfLove an angry warrior who only ever finds peace after being forced to work with a wise and beautiful female warrior]]. Janeway finally gets it, and the resulting [[HoldingHands hand grasp]] is just about the most heartwarming thing ever.

** ''Series/StarTrekPicard''. The final episode of Season One contains a scene of [[HomoeroticSubtext Raffi and Seven]] carefully intertwining fingers across a table.
* Pepa and Silvia in ''Series/LosHombresDePaco'' usually intertwine their fingers when HoldingHands.
* ''Film/{{Emma}}'': Emma and [[spoiler:Mr. Knightley]] do this behind her back when they break the news of their engagement to her father.
* ''Series/GameOfThrones''. In "The Kingsroad" Daenerys' bed-slave Doreah instructs her on the importance of this (along with HeldGaze) during her LesYay-filled {{sexposition}} on the art of making love to a man.

* ''Series/Daredevil2015'': [[OfficialCouple Matt Murdock and Karen Page]] tend to be intertwine their hands after they start dating.
* ''Series/{{NCIS}}'': After listening to recordings from the Vietnam War, Gibbs and Sloane (both of whom are {{Shell Shocked Veteran}}s -- him from Desert Storm, her from Enduring Freedom) are visibly shaken by the memories. Sloane reaches out to put her hand on his arm in comfort, and he responds by taking her hand in his and lacing their fingers together. They aren't dating... [[ShipTease yet]].
** In a MoodWhiplash example, in season 10's "Berlin," Tony and Ziva share a heartwarming moment driving back from surveiling a suspect for a case. Tony gives her a compliment, and takes her hand in emotional support. A moment later, they're T-boned by a car at top speed. The final shot of the episode is Tony, barely conscious, reaching out towards Ziva. The back of his hand has a wreath of cuts on it--the imprints of Ziva's fingernails where their fingers were laced together.

** In "Vendetta", Oliver Queen takes fellow vigilante Helena Bertinelli to the gravestone of Sara Lance and explains how his grief and guilt made him the man he is now. Helena has her own issues of grief and guilt, and as he talks a close-up shows her reaching out her hand and intertwining her fingers with his.
** A platonic version occurs in "Vertigo" when Thea Queen is being swarmed by reporters when she turns up for a court appearance. Oliver takes her hand with this trope as [[BigBrotherInstinct he fends them off]] with the other hand.

* Used in the scene where Eli crawls into Oskar's bed in ''Film/LetTheRightOneIn''. It's probably for the best that that's where the focus is, as Eli's naked and bloody, Oskar sleeps in his underwear, and both are 12 years old. Nevertheless, the scene is [[ToyShip painfully sweet]].

* [[CreepyTwins Hansel and Gretel]] do a [[{{Twincest}} very delicate]] [[ToyShip and sensual version]] of this in ''Manga/BlackLagoon''. It's a bit unnerving.

This is in particular a staple of [[YuriGenre lesbian related works]] and scenes. Intertwined fingers can often [[HoYay indicate lesbian relationships]] [[HideYourLesbians without getting explicit about it]]. In fact, see the YuriGenre article for other good illustration of this trope.

* In chapter 23 of ''Fanfic/APrizeForThreeEmpires'', ComicBook/CarolDanvers tells [[Franchise/XMen Gladiator]] about human courtship customs and the importance of touching as a sign of intimacy. As their conversation gets more intimate, they end up entwining hands.

* Subverted in the ''Manga/GunslingerGirl'' fanfic "[[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/8459711/1/Porcupine-Love Porcupine Love]]". When cyborg Triela and assassin Pinnochio do this, it's to tie up each other's hands [[FoeRomanceSubtext so they can't easily kill the other]] while [[GetARoom going to have sex]].

* Akihito and Mirai in episode 12 of ''LightNovel/BeyondTheBoundary'', when he tells her to close her eyes and not be afraid. Significant in that it serves as a nonverbal declaration of their love for each other. [[spoiler: The actual verbal love confession and subsequent RelationshipUpgrade happens during the finale movie, and again the couple employs this trope during said scene.]]

* Rose and Ryuuji in ''LightNovel/DragonCrisis'' do this fairly often, since it's used to kick off their [[BattleCouple Engage]] abilities.

* In ''LightNovel/No6'' chapter 13 Sion is nervous about going to rescue Safu and Nezumi calms him down by grabbing his hand and [[HoYay intertwining his fingers with Sion's]].

* At the end of the second ''Anime/{{Patlabor}}'' movie, after Nagumo slaps the handcuffs on her former lover Yukihito Tsuge. Goto sees this and [[AllLoveIsUnrequited has a mournful expression on his face]].

* ''Anime/{{Yuri On Ice}}'s'' [[ShipTease Yuri Katsuki laces his fingers with his coach Victor's]] right before going in for a HeadbuttOfLove in the sixth episode. They later [[spoiler: get engaged]].

* Najimi and Yell do this in episode 7 of ''LightNovel/{{Akikan}}''. This may be part of the summoning process which also includes kissing.
* An unromantic example from ''LightNovel/{{Bakemonogatari}}'' in Suruga Monkey. While Senjougahara intertwines their fingers Kanbaru confesses her love. Senjougahara's response is to reply that she knows and that she can't see Kanbaru as anything but a friend.

* ''[[Lightnovel/FullMetalPanic Full Metal Panic: The Second Raid]]''. Xia Yu Fang and Xia Yu Lan do this after one of them gets a PistolWhipping from BadBoss Gates. It hints at their {{twincest}} relationship, as if the earlier [[HoYay Les Yay]] ShowerScene wasn't evidence enough.
