* At School -- Erasers, eraser dust[[note]]a bit less common in a post-chalkboard age[[/note]], pointers, AV carts, [[ThrowTheBookAtThem heavy textbooks]], [[FoodFight cafeteria]] [[EdibleAmmunition food]], [[ThePenIsMightier writing implements]], [[ShearMenace scissors]], [[BatterUp wooden or aluminum bats]] or any equipment from the gym, [[BroomstickQuarterstaff brooms from the janitor's closet]], [[InstrumentOfMurder instruments from the music classes and/or marching band]], desks and [[ChairmanOfTheBrawl chairs]], and even [[PaperMaster note paper]]. There's also the term 'the loaded backpack' for swinging a backpack weighted with books. Let's not forget tools from automotive shop class, carpentry class, or even chemistry class if there is one (bonus points if it's [[EyeScream poured in the victim's eyes]]).

* In ''Fanfic/MyHeroAcademiaUnchainedPredator'', the Slayer would use a fire axe, sledgehammer, several rebar rods, saw blades and even the Sabers own combat knives when going stealthy on I-Island. When he goes loud, he uses a destroyed APC turret, a double tanker full of gasoline, an ''active'' APC turret he yanked off, a tank turret he yanked off, and a glass plate among other things, including his weapons.

[[MyFriendsAndZoidberg And don't forget]] [[BaguetteBeatdown loaves of bread]]. Food can also be used as EdibleAmmunition if it's hard enough and propelled at lethal speeds.

* Construction Sites -- {{wrench|Whack}}es, {{shovel|Strike}}s, [[DropTheHammer hammers]], hatchets, [[PipePain pipes]], [[DefiantStoneThrow bricks]], iron bars, [[TwoByFore boards]], [[PowerfulPick pickaxes]], paint buckets, blowtorches, [[AerosolFlamethrower aerosol flamethrowers]], [[CrowbarCombatant crowbars]], hacksaws, [[ThisIsADrill portable drills]], [[ChainsawGood power cutters]], [[NailEm rivet guns]], [[RulesOfTheRoad sharpened metallic roadsign]], welding equipment, bulldozers, excavators, [[CarFu trucks]], [[ForkliftFu forklifts]], [[ChainPain chains]], [[GasCylinderRocket gas cylinders]], and many other tools.

* At the gym -- Hand weights, dumbbells, kettlebells, lighter barbell weights, and other small weights are equally good as both bludgeons and projectiles. Heavier barbell weights might not be easy to throw, but will still hurt like hell if you hit someone in the face or [[AgonyOfTheFeet drop it on their toes]]. Additionally, bereft of weights, a barbell's actual ''bar'' can make for a good quarterstaff if you're beefy enough to swing a solid, 45lb rod. Add even a single, properly-secured weight, and it will become a mighty [[DropTheHammer war hammer]].

He wields it in almost every fight, to the point that it becomes a part of his mental landscape for more than one BattleInTheCenterOfTheMind.

* In ''Literature/TheEyeOfArgon'', Grignr sharpens the pelvic bone of a rat and slashes one of the guards with it during his escape.
* In ''Fanfic/{{Forward}}'', during a fight inside an infirmary, Jayne kills an opponent who is strangling him (and wearing low-profile PowerArmor) by braining him with a bedpan and cutting his throat with a scalpel. Jayne improvising weapons is something he keeps doing over the course of the story as well; in his flashback to when six men tried to kill him, he ends up taking out one of them by rigging a massive incendiary bomb using gasoline and small explosives. Also, the whole crew ends up improvising an anti-ship missile out of a disused drone, shuttle engines, and a repurposed flight computer.
* In ''Franchise/SonicTheHedgehog'' fanfic ''Fanfic/PrisonIslandBreak'', Shadow is highly skilled at creating shivs out of ''anything'', and tends to pick things up on his way in and out of rooms even directly after shakedowns.
* [[InvertedTrope Inverted]] in the [[CrackFic bizarre]] ''VideoGame/HalfLife2'' fic ''FanFic/QuarterLifeHalfwayToDestruction''. [[CrowbarCombatant Gordon]]'s signature improvised weapon, the [[RougeAnglesOfSatin crowbarb]], is missing, so he instead uses a claymore sword.

* ''[[https://forums.spacebattles.com/threads/that-others-may-tinker-worm-grey-goo.505025/ That Others May Tinker]]'': Taylor's tinker specialty is in robots for exploring hostile environments, but she still finds ways to make them combat-effective.

* In ''Fanfic/WhenReasonFails'', Shoto uses a Coca-Cola can combined with his ice magic as an improvised grenade.
* In ''Fanfic/IfYouOnlyKnewThenTheThingsIOnlyKnowNow'', Madame Jin fully harnessed the art of fighting with anything you can get your hands on, and gave her son some pointers. It makes Jin Zixuan the most qualified person to develop a fighting style revolving around a fan.

* In the fourth case of ''VisualNovel/PhoenixWrightAceAttorneySpiritOfJustice'', the killer [[spoiler:smothers her victim with ''Udon dough''. Interestingly, the murderer has a deadly allergy to buckwheat, so if the victim had been preparing Soba dough instead, she would not have survived herself.]]
* In the second ''VisualNovel/HatofulBoyfriend'' Hiyoko can uproot a mailbox to use against a ''tank.''

* Flippy from ''WebAnimation/HappyTreeFriends'' has a knack for this when he's not using his [[PsychoKnifeNut bowie knife]]. His list of killing methods includes stabbing someone through the heart with a drinking straw, stabbing someone through the head with a rose, and even disemboweling someone with a Christmas cookie.
** Even Lumpy's pilot version did this during ''Banjo Frenzy''. After his banjo broke and the characters watching laughed, he went on a rampage and killed all of them using the banjo. (Except for Toothy's pilot version, who's head bit Lumpy before the episode ended.)

* On the off-chance you find yourself in a fully-equipped [[WallOfWeapons armory]], but none of the actual weapons are particularly usable, you can still use them in [[ImprobableUseOfAWeapon other, more exotic ways]]. Modern armories full of guns will also likely have heavy ammo boxes, loose machine gun belts can make for great [[WhipItGood whips]], while individual rifle rounds of larger calibers are essentially daggers or shivs. And don't forget; a grenade that can't detonate is still a several pound ball of steel, while the spoon and arming pin are more shivs.

* If you're a DamselInDistress, always a vase. [[VideoGame/AlphaProtocol Maybe a small statue]]. Or a high heeled [[ShoeSlap shoe]]. * If you have a spare stocking and a few blunt objects, you might as well SockItToThem. Though a [[ClothingCombat scarf, cloak or sash]].

* Volume 2, Episode 1 of ''WebAnimation/{{RWBY}}'' had Teams RWBY and JNPR utilize various foodstuffs as analogues for their traditional weapons. Nora uses a [[XOnAStick watermelon on a pole]], Yang uses turkeys as gauntlets, Pyrrha uses a baguette as a spear, Weiss uses a swordfish, and… [[NotMakingThisUpDisclaimer stop laughing!]]
