* Vanyel Ashkevron of the ''Literature/LastHeraldMageTrilogy'' is gay but has [[ChosenConceptionPartner sired children for some friends who want them]]. The closest of these, Shavri, causes him some consternation as he realizes that he cares about her rather more acutely than he'd expect, similarly to though less intensely than the way he loved Tylendel. It's enough to make him wonder if he's really gay or if his general disinterest in women is because he finds being pursued so off-putting.
