Alice is typically a child. Often they also NeverGotToSayGoodbye, so even more drama ensues. Usually lasts only one episode but can be milked indefinitely as Alice acts more and more irrational/self-destructive. You can also milk it for drama by making Bob not die, but become deadly ill for an episode. The wisher will learn a lesson, and the [[StatusQuoIsGod status quo]] will resume. Even more classic (and TruthInTelevision) is children blaming themselves for their parents divorcing.

If Alice actually celebrates Bob's death, rather than angsting about it, then you are looking for AndThereWasMuchRejoicing, not this trope.

* ''Series/TheFreshPrinceOfBelAir'' had an episode where Will told off his uncle's JerkAss political mentor-turned-rival, including a "drop dead." Seconds later, he has a fatal heart attack. Will attends the funeral out of guilt, only to learn that [[AndThereWasMuchRejoicing he was pretty well universally hated]] - most of the "mourners" are there just to make sure he's really gone. Will admonishes them for their callousness, causing one to ask who he is; when he responds "I'm the dude who killed him," he gets a standing ovation. "Tough room."

* Happens quite frequently in ''WebVideo/EscapeTheNight''.
** In season one, Matt and Lele are very open about their mutual hatred for each other and often say this to each other’s faces.
** In season two, Alex says this to Destorm, who was partially responsible for his girlfriends murder.
** In season three, Teala is easily the group’s weakest link, yet keeps surviving through dumb luck whilst the more resourceful characters end up dying by pure bad luck. Whilst no one has the guts to say this to her face, it’s frequently said during confessions and behind Teala’s back.
