* Parodied in a Season 1 ''WesternAnimation/RickAndMorty'' episode. The two are basically attempting to pull off the plot of ''Film/{{Inception}}'' when they encounter "Scary Terry", a dream monster obviously based on Freddy Krueger from ''Franchise/ANightmareOnElmStreet''. The two manage to evade Terry, then follow him home where he's having a bad dream. They wonder what could scare a guy like Terry... and it turns out to be a NotWearingPantsDream combined with Terry failing in school.

** Even better, the Dragonborn can weaponize this weakness with the "Dragonrend" shout, composed of the words Joor, Zah, and Frul, meaning "mortal", "temporary", and "finite", respectively. Mechanically, all it really does is [[BoringButPractical force a dragon to land]], robbing it of its mobility and making it much easier to hit. The in-story reason for this is that the Shout forces the dragon to understand the concept of mortality, so incomprehensible to the immortal mind that they become too disoriented to fly.
