* ''UglyBetty'', as the title implies, featured America Ferrera as the titular "ugly" character who, in addition to braces and frumpy clothing, was often derided as fat by the fashion magazine she worked for. There's a bit of TruthInTelevision to this, as in the fashion industry, "fat" = "having natural boobs and hips/being bigger than a size four." In real life, [[http://www.imdb.com/media/rm4170748928/nm1065229 America Ferrera]] was at most a size 10, and thinner now, but you still get people on the Website/{{IMDB}} boards calling her a bad role model for being obese. Of course, this ''is'' [=IMDb=] we're talking about here; most of the people on those boards [[{{Troll}} live under bridges]].

* Hanayo Koizumi of ''Franchise/LoveLive School Idol Project'' often obsesses about her weight, not helped by her [[TrademarkFavoriteFood love of rice]], which is very much not a diet-friendly food. Yet not only does she look no chubbier than the rest of the cast, but she doesn't even have the largest measurements out of them; Eli and Nozomi both have bigger three-sizes than her with the latter in particular having the largest breasts in the group yet nobody points that out.

* Wrestling/TheUndertaker developed a big of a gut during his "Bikertaker" stint, causing fans to mock him for being out-of-shape (the fact that this is the DorkAge of Taker's career and that his workrate declined during this period doesn't help much). He lost the extra weight around the same time that he returned to his Deadman persona.

** Kel of ''Literature/ProtectorOfTheSmall doesn't fare much better: she's described as big in the books, and at one point bully character Joren tells her in a bit of 'concern trolling' that she'd be quite attractive if she lost some weight. But the nearest cover art comes to acknowledging this is not depicting her as an actual waif; she doesn't have the kind of figure on cover art that it would occur to even an enemy to pass negative comment upon.

* Jewel Staite was asked to gain a few pounds to play Kaylee in ''Series/{{Firefly}}'' to look like 'the kind of girl who enjoys a burger once in a while'. While her figure is not that of the waifish River or the Amazononia Zoey, she's still a very slim young woman. Staite was thinner in the movie though. Official comic art naturally tends to endow Kaylee with [[https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/b7/92/6a/b7926a33a0aa6f6672f4b051470971b9.jpg a very skinny figure]], ignoring both the comparitive curves of the character, and the bagginess of her habitual clothes.

* In''VideoGame/TheWitcher3WildHunt'' one quest has Geralt directed towards the maidservant of a noblewoman who goes on to describe her as 'portly' even though her character model is just as slim and attractive as almost every other woman in the game.

* In one scene ''Film/TheIncredibles'', Helen sees herself in the mirror when she's wearing her new superhero outfit, and lets out a sigh, clearly not pleased with the HartmanHips she's developed over the past 15 years. WordOfGod confirms this trope was deliberately invoked as she is being overly critical of her own physique.
